ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Cheer Up the Lonely Day which is a day to share love with those who feel lonely. There are a lot of people who have lost someone or have moved to a new place and not made any new friends yet. Loneliness can affect young and old, and people in all walks of life.
It’s a good occasion to spend some quality time with people who are lonely and help them have a great day by letting them know somebody cares about them. Any time you can make someone happy, you’re doing a good thing...
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Make someone happy. Make just one someone happy and you will be happy too.
Jimmy Durante
I have to say that even though I live by myself, I am never lonely. I have plenty of people in my life to love and that love me back. Thanks to my family and friends I’m really never alone.
And I’m very thankful for the internet that helps to keep me in touch with those near and far. When my children all left home and I found myself alone for the first time in my life, it was a big adjustment and that is when I started writing this daily newsletter many years ago now. It does help me to keep in touch with the people I care about and I don’t even have to leave the house to do it.
They say that you’re really never alone if you enjoy your own company. And I’ve learned to do that well. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. I’ve always plenty to do and I’m never bored. I do what makes me happy and want make others to be happy too.
I had some fun decorating my old fashioned sideboard that sits in my living room this week. I decorate it for seasons like some would decorate a fireplace mantle. I have no fireplace so this is my favorite piece of furniture to decorate. Some things always stay the same like the clock, my little brown bird, and the family picture. So that is what my pictures are of today.
I hope you all have GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
There are so many things that can make you happy. Don’t focus too much on the things that make you sad.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

That's neat with your talents to decorate that sideboard, Ma! I'm alone a lot but like you I'm not lonely. I have enough interests and things to do that I don't often get bored either. But I do know there are people out there that have rare human contact or their families don't come and see them like if they are in a nursing home and I would imagine they would be lonely. Its a good idea to reach out to hose who could be lonely indeed!

A sweet reminder to all to reach out to others and those who are lonely don't wear a badge saying so. Love that old clock!
… and let's not forget those who feel lonely, even with surrounded by others. I think that was, in large part, the reason I began blogging. Seems like eons before I discovered my own authentic voice and quit trying to 'fit in' a) where I didn't belong, or b) where newcomers weren't exactly welcomed with open arms. On account of the dear friends I have come to know, I feel mighty blessed I didn't just fold up my tent and go away.
I do have times that I feel lonely but for the most part I am okay alone. I spend a lot of time alone. I love how you decorate for the seasons. That plate is gorgeous!
It takes someone with faith to deal with life. Loneliness would be a challenge for many many people. Sounds like you have the faith and the outlook on life to help you through most of it.
