ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Ice Cream Day which celebrates a summertime favorite for people of all ages. In 1984 President Ronald Regan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and also declared the third Sunday in July as National Ice Cream Day.
With hundreds of flavors and toppings to choose from, you can’t go wrong with Ice Cream! Whether you get it in a cup or in a cone, atop a waffle or in a banana split, make sure to have some cold delicious ice cream today!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness in common things.
Henry Ward Beecher
Although I like many flavors of ice cream, I always have vanilla ice cream here in the fridge. That way I can use which ever topping I want. I like chocolate, caramel, nuts and fruit toppings such as strawberry or raspberry too. I even like it with a drizzle of maple syrup on top. So I’ll definitely be celebrating with a sundae this Sunday.
Our temps will be some milder today as we are to be in the upper 80’s instead of the 90’s and by tomorrow they say we’ll be in the 70’s. Thankfully the excessive heat warnings of the past few days have subsided.
I should be off to church as usual here and then home to rest and relax. Nothing new for me. It’s been a lazy summer.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

7269. for plenty of lazy summer days
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Hope you all are staying cool and comfortable. It's a good day to have some ice cream.
Don't eat ice cream very often but might just have to have some after this post:)
I heard on the news this morning that Dairy Queen here was offering a sundae for 99 cents and then you got another one free. Even the Pet Smarts here were offering pet friendly ice cream treats today to honor the day! Might have to have some ourselves tonight for a summer treat! I also heard that New York City was going to be 99 degrees today! Guess the heatwave moved that way, but glad you temps will be cooler!
betty
Dairy Queen is one of my favorites now I'm wanting ice cream, will I drive 14 miles to get it from a Dairy Queen just might. (smile) You have a pretty little girl there eating an ice cream cone. Take care. Jean
Texas has Blue Bell Ice Cream and it is amazing! Still.....I buy vanilla.
Tomorrow will be near 100 as has the last several days. Then we get three days of 80's followed by three days of lower 90's. I can't complain.
Love seeing you with your grands....
Because we enjoyed an enormous late lunch, supper might just have to be ice cream! Funny, I used to think my mother's vanilla was sooooo boring. But that's exactly what we keep on hand. Like you pointed out, it's so versatile!
