ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Day of the Cowboy which was started as a way to contribute to preservation of America’s rich cowboy heritage
Cowboys created there own guidelines on how to live known as the Code of The West, rules that were not written but always respected on the range.
In honor of this day, try to live up to these 10 codes of conduct.
Live each day with honesty and courage
Take pride in your work, Always do your best.
Stay curious. Study hard and learn all you can.
Do what has to be done and finish what you start
Be tough, but fair
When you make a promise, keep it.
Be clean in thought, word, deed and dress
Practice tolerance and understanding of others.
Be willing to stand up for what is right.
Be an excellent steward of the land and its animals.
To celebrate today, you can dress like a cowboy, attend a rodeo, go horseback riding or curl up on the couch to watch your favorite Westerns.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Cowboy Motto:
If it’s not yours, don’t take it.
If is not true, don’t say it
If is not right, don’t do it.
Today’s pictures are of one of the few trips I made out west. I visited 2 of my sons and their families. They are not cowboys but we saw a few of them. It’s a trip I’ll never forget.
Today is my day to cook for the weekend and since there are a lot of Cowboy recipes out there I choose one of my favorites. Beef, beans and barbecue sauce are topped with biscuits to satisfy hungry cowboy appetites.
Cowboy Casserole
1 lb lean ground beef
1 can baked beans, 16 oz.
1/2 c. barbecue sauce
2 c. Bisquick baking mix
2/3 c. milk
2 tsp butter, softened
1/2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Heat oven to 425 degrees. In a 10 inch skillet, cook beef until thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir baked beans and barbecue sauce into beef. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Pour into a 2 quart casserole.
Meanwhile, in a medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, butter and butter until a soft dough forms. Drop by 12 spoonfuls onto beef mixture.
Bake uncovered about 20 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Sprinkle with cheese and bake about 3 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Makes 6 servings.
It’s to be a hot one today, take care everyone. Stay cool and drink plenty of water.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Memories like these are a treasure, all precious and golden.
Looked like it was a fun trip Ma! The local news is featuring a cowboy place here today on the news. Now it makes sense since it is National Cowboy Day! Your recipe looks delicious too! Stay cool!

My heroes have always been cowboys! Methinks I need to find my Willie Nelson CD.
Happy Saturday!
Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash are the voices I enjoy hearing.
Love your family photos, esp. in front of that giant bull.
