ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Look Alike Day which recognizes look alikes and a chance for you to try to look like someone you really look up to. A look alike is a person who closely resembles another person. Many look alikes even earn a living by playing the person they resemble.
With 74 million people on the planet there is bound to be someone else out there who shares your features.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
People are pretty much alike. It’s only that our differences are more susceptible to definition that our similarities.
Linda Ellerby.
My daughter recently said she had never realized before just how much my sister and I look alike. I said, I think it’s the white hair! Ha ! For the most part we are very unique and individual people but yes, in someways we look alike.
It’s the day before Easter here and I’ll be cooking as usual for the weekend. We had a big dinner last weekend, so this weekend will be much simpler for me. I plan to use some of the leftover ham I had in the freezer and add it to some scalloped potatoes.
Scalloped Potatoes and Ham
6 tbsp butter, divided
1/4 c. flour
1 tsp parsley flakes
1 tsp. sald
1/2 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp pepper
3 c. milk
6 c. thinly sliced potatoes
1 1/2 b. chopped fully cooked ham
1 small onion, grated
In a large sauce pan melt 4 tbsp. butter. Sir in flour, parsley, salt thyme and pepper until smooth. Gradually add milk, bring to a boil. Cook and stir 2 minutes. Combine potatoes ham and onion and place half in a 2 1/2 quart baking dish. Top with have half the sauce and repeat layers.
Cover and bake at 375 degrees for about 60 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Dot with remaining butter and bake uncovered about 15 minutes longer.
We’ve had some rain for the past few days, but they say Easter Sunday is looking to be sunny and a bit warmer. We’ll see….
Today’s pictures are of my day with my sister on Friday.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

I do think you and your sister look alike Ma! I do remember being out and about and seeing men that looked like my brother. I'm sure there are many look alikes out there. We're supposed to be about 88 degrees tomorrow for Easter.
betty
You do look like your sister! I have two sisters but I don't look like them, they are pretty. LOL Blessings on you at Easter.
I certainly enjoy looking for similarities in family members! Perhaps I'm not alone? The cutest thing I saw recently ... (when) someone commented on a mutual friend's Facebook page how much she and her daughter looked alike. (Not realizing D's daughter is adopted!)
People have often commented that I resemble my mother … but I don't see it.
This recipe may prompt me to make scalloped potatoes again. That used to be a family favorite, but I imagine it's been 30 years!
What a blessing to spend time with your sister! Some say I look like my mother but I don’t see it. I have one sister that looks like our Granny.....
Enjoy your quiet Easter weekend. It’s a quiet one for us too.....
