ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

WELCOME APRIL
The month of April is ASPCA Month, Amateur Radio Month, Autism Awareness Month, Car Care Month, Diversity Month, Child Abuse Prevention Month, Community Sprit Days, Defat Diabetes Month, Distracted Driving Awareness Month, Fresh Florida Tomatoes Month, Frog Month, Home Improvement Time, Keep America Beautiful, Month of the Young Child, National Decorating Month, National Grilled Cheese Month, National Garden Month, National Humor Month, National Social Security Month, Straw Hat Month, and World Habitat Month.
Today is April Fools Day which is a day that is often celebrated by hoaxes and practical jokes of varying degrees on friends, and family. Traditionally, jokes only last until noon ;and are called an April Fool.
To celebrate today play a trick on someone you know, and watch out for pranks played on you. Beware! It’s a day for shenanigans, laughter and humor.
According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac: if it thunders on All Fools’ Day, it brings good crops and hay.
April’s flowers are the Sweet Pea and the Daisy. The month’s gem is the diamond.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty four .
Mark Twain
I’m fresh out of tricks today and am still rebounding from the joke that mother nature played on us yesterday with the snow. Just when we thought Spring was here, winter arrived in all it’s glory.Today we should see it melt away as it’s to be above freezing.
I’m hoping that this week will see the end of my Spring painting project. It’s time to move on and get the Spring cleaning done too. It won’t be long at all now until my time will be spend doing yard work instead. And I’m looking forward to it. There is a lot of cleaning up to be done outside too. There are lots of leaves leftover from last fall still blowing around out there and many branches and sticks to pick up from the winter storms. Today’s pictures are of the outside of my house taken yesterday, the last day of March. I put my muck boots on and took a walk around to survey what needs to be done. The wind outside was very cold and the leftover Pork and Bean Chilli I had made really hit the spot.
My Spring Bucket List has been done for a while now but I keep forgetting to post it. So without further ado, here it is.
Ma’s Spring Bucket List
Go for a bike ride
Shop at a farmers market
Have a picnic
Wash car
Go to a craft fair
Shop garage sales
Shop at a flea market
Watch sunrise
Finish Spring cleaning
Decorate Easter Eggs
Plant some flowers
Watch sunset
Spend some time on the porch
I hope you all have a GREAT new start to this week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The first of April, some do say
Is set apart for All Fool’s Day.
But why the people call it so
Nor I, nor they themselves do know.
But on this day are people sent
On purpose for pure merriment.
Poor Robin’s Almanac, 1790
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6930. for laughter, always good and good for you
6931. for muck boots, definitely needed here
6932. for a new week, a chance to begin again
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
We’re fools whether we dance or not, so we might as well dance.
Old Proverb
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

No fooling, It's April 1st!
My goodness April surely celebrates a lot of things, maybe because it is spring. Today is my late mother's birthday:) Your place looks nice, thanks for sharing.
There's definitely some April celebrations I can get behind! They had pots full of daisies outside church yesterday, but I didn't know about sweet peas. (Of course, now I'm remembering singing along with Tommy Roe, "Oh, Sweet Pea!" Ha!)
Thanks for reminding me, I need to get busy on my own Spring bucket list.
PS - Mark Twain sure got that right!
PPS - Not sure if you re-visit blogs (some do, some don't … it's all good!) … but I responded to your query about the Creed.
I love your spring bucket list, MA! I'm right along with you on those. Love, Andrea xoxo
You have a great spring bucket list Ma! I bet you'll get them all done! Yuck with the snow. Hoping its the last you'll see of it this season!
betty
Great list. Melting snow is such a welcome sight.
