ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also the Boston Marathon, which is the worlds oldest annual marathon and one of the most prestigious road racing events. People come from all over the world to run and watch this historic race. It is the second biggest single day sporting even in the US, only behind the Super Bowl.
It’s also a holiday know as Patriot's Day in Massachusetts and Maine. Although it’s celebrated as a unifying and joyous event, it’s also a time to remember those who were impacted by the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. We keep the families and communities that were affected by the events in our thoughts today.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is like a marathon. I’s full of ups and downs that take your breath away.

DS#2’s birthday is another of those long distance celebrations for me. Most of them are. He lives out of state and I don’t get to see him often, so as always a card was sent out wishing him much love and good wishes for a very happy day.
Like marathon races, life does have it’s challenges but is a definitely a race worth the effort. We can’t always control our circumstances but we can control our attitudes about what happens.
I have leftover ham and baked beans in the fridge from this past Saturday to eat up here at my house So on the menu for today I’ll be cutting the ham in to pieces and simmering it together with the beans. I also have some apples that need using up here so I’ll be making some home made applesauce. To do that I just peal and slice the apples and cook them with a bit of cinnamon, sugar and butter. Waste not want not is my policy.
I hope you all have a GREAT start tp this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Life is like a sport. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose; but the game always goes on.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

6977. for a new week and a fresh start
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY

Happy ☺ Birthday 🎂
I always come to your page for news, MA. *lol* I didn't know the Boston Marathon is today. Happy Birthday to your son... may he have many many more. Love, Andrea xoxo
Happy birthday to DDS#2! I hope he has a great day! Your ham and beans sound delicious! That's one good thing about family celebrations. There are usually leftovers after them!
betty
Happy birthday blessings to your #2! He and his wife sure make a handsome couple. I remember my mother making her own applesauce, smashing and mashing -- it seemed a lot more labor intensive at the time. Enjoy!
And Happy B-day to your #2!
Ham and beans is in my planning after Easter.
Happy Easter to you and yours.
Hey! It is my birthday too! Only I am not as young as your son. LOL!
It was a beautiful sunny day today in Georgia, cooler than it has been but it was gorgeous!
I love your "waste not, want not" and try to use up things too.
I seemed to have missed more than one post! I’m a big fan of waste not want not!
You have such a beautiful family!
