ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Good Friday which a the day when Christians commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus. Some may attend special church services or prayer vigils.
Good Friday is a another day at work for many as it is not a national holiday, but some choose to take a day off and have a long Spring Break weekend. In some states, employees are given a day off and in others it’s the individual choice of the employer.
This is an important event in Christianity as it represents the sacrifice and suffering in Jesus’ life. The crucifix, or cross, which represents the way Jesus died, is an important symbol seen on Good Friday
Today is also the April Full Moon, Primrose Day, National Garlic Day and Passover which begins tonight and is an eight day festival for our Jewish friends.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Unless there is a Good Friday in your life, there can be no Easter Sunday.
Fulton Sheen
For many years when my family was growing up we did take an Easter Break day on Good Friday. We’d go someplace special as a family and enjoy having a day doing something together. Last year, those of us close by spent the day in Cleveland and took a trip on Lolly the Trolley, which is a great way to see the highlights of the city and that is what the pictures are of today.
Today begins Spring break for our city schools and many are looking forward to having some time off. While others in my family had their break earlier, most still get Good Friday off from school. Me, I’m always on break these days so it doesn’t make much difference, although I am going to enjoy lunch today with my sister to celebrate her birthday.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Good Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone but in every leaf in springtime.
Martin Luther
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6987. for a day to remember
6988. for my Sister it’s her birthday
6989. for Easter break, good for the body and the soul
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Good Friday is such a sad day, all loss and cruelty, and you have to go on faith that light shines in the darkness.
Ann Lamott
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Good Friday is a time for faith, family and love.
That trolley ride looked like fun from last year! That is interesting that it is Good Friday, a full moon, and the start of Passover. Always good to remember what Jesus did for us on the cross. My hubby has the day off but I am working. Watching the local news today we saw that traffic was lighter so it seems lots others had the day off too. I think the kids are still in school though and they had their spring break the traditional time in mid March.

Good Friday used to always be a very solemn day for me, as a child growing up. I am Catholic so the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross was always remembered in a big way on Good Friday. Most Good Fridays of my life it has been rainy & gloomy.... and today is no exception. Many blessings on you today, MA, in whatever you do on this Holy Day of Good Friday. Love, Andrea xoxo
Um, National Garlic Day. Yes sirree! :)
I'm so impressed how your family not only loves one another … but likes spending time together, too! Blessed!
You do have such a great family! I hope you enjoyed your lunch and time with your sister!
