ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day which honors raisins covered in a shell of either milk chocolate or dark chocolate. The most common brand of chocolate covered raisins on the market is Raisinets, first introduced to the world in 1927.
Chocolate Covered Raisins by the handful is just the beginning of the best ways to celebrate this delicious holiday.
Raisins are an excellent source of fiber, potassium, iron, calcium and certain B vitamins. Add some dark chocolate to the mix you’ll also get a healthy dose of antioxidants and important minerals.
There are so many different ways to enjoy them. For the truly dedicated, there is nothing like sprinkling a handful into a chocolate cake batter before baking, and then adorning the top of the cake with them to add a sweet bite to a rich chocolate cake.
Then there are those who take the Oatmeal cookie to a higher level and use Chocolate Covered Raisins to turn this cookie favorite into a decadent treat. The flavor is out of this world.
The ways to celebrate today have endless possibilities

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Anything is good if it’s made of chocolate.
Jo Brand
While I have enjoyed Chocolate Covered Raisins many times, I never thought about putting them in cakes or cookies. But it does sound like a great idea.
We used to get chocolate covered peanuts and raisins for a special treat for the holidays or parties. They weren’t something we had very often. But they are easy enough to make on your own by melting some chocolate and adding raisins. Then you take spoonfuls and drop onto wax paper and let cool.
Chocolate is my all time favorite comfort food. It’s good and good for us. With Easter right around the corner, it could be the perfect time to make some chocolate covered raisins to enjoy.
This has been a busy week and I’m ready for my day of rest this Sunday. It’s to be warmer too, so I’m looking forward to getting out to church this morning. It’s great to go anywhere when it’s not freezing cold for sure.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

I haven't had a chocolate covered raisin in years, but they are so delicious! Raisins are such a great snack no matter how they are served! I hope you have a restful Sunday, Ma!

Oh dear, I'm not fond of either dark chocolate or raisins … but I know someone who does. Sharing these novel ideas with her right now. Happy Sunday!
