ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is I Want You to be Happy Day which is observed by people who want someone else to be happy. To celebrate the day you should do something to make others happy, especially if they are sad at the moment. Putting a smile on other people’s face should also make you happy so there’s one more reason to celibate the day.
To make someone happy you could give them a hug, tell a joke, or just let them know how much they mean to you.
Today is also National Anthem Day, National Cold Cuts Day and American Idol begins a new season.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.
Mark Twain
I’m hoping to make someone special very happy today as I’m going to our little our Lucky Guy’s birthday party. Believe me when I say there will be lots of hugs and laughter and it will be a very happy time. The pictures today are from last years party. The party theme was Star Wars, but I have no idea what it will be this year.
Bringing others happiness does increase your own happiness. What you give to others always comes back. I believe that life is too short to be anything but happy. I count my blessings every day and when I think about all I have I cannot help but be a happy person. You cannot be happy and sad at the same time.
This is a different Sunday for me as I’m skipping church in order to make it to the party on time. DS#5 is giving me a ride as it is no short distance from my house to theirs. But the trip is worth it for sure.
I’m taking along the macaroni salad the I made yesterday and it will be served along with pizza and many other goodies that are sure to be on hand too. Our Lucky Guy doesn’t like regular birthday cake much at all so he usually has a big chocolate chip cookie cake instead.
The recipe for Mom’s Macaroni Salad
12 oz. rotini pasta
1 can tuna, drained
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 small can of baby peas, drained
1 c. mayonnaise
3 hard cooked eggs quartered, optional
Salt and Lemon Pepper to taste
Paprika, for garnish
Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Add the pasta and cook until tender . Drain and rinse under cold water.
In a large bowl, stir together the pasta, tuna, celery, onion and peas. Mix in the mayonnaise salt and pepper. Garnish with egg wedges, if desired, and a sprinkle of paprika. Cover and chill for at least 1 hour before serving.
I’m making a little more than the original recipe to share today since it is a party. There may be leftovers, but that is ok as it’s a family favorite.
As always I’ll be praying for a safe trip for those traveling there and back. It would be wonderful if we all lived closer, but that is not the case. Thankfully this is one we can drive there and back in one day.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The greatest gift we give to someone who loves us is simply to be happy.
Robert Brault
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6845. for happiness, always good
6846. for grandchildren, they are a gift
6847. for time spent with family
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

A Sunday well spent means a week of content!
So glad you can go to the party and be with your Grandson and family...have a great day!
Have fun at the party, Ma! That is a great recipe for macaroni salad; I can see what it is a hit for your family. It is neat that you are able to celebrate the birthday even if it is a bit of a drive. Praying for travel mercies for you and the family.

Wheeee! I hope Lucky Guy's party was great fun for all. My son never cared much for cake, either … he preferred pie or cobbler. That macaroni salad with the tuna and lemon pepper sounds yummy!
