ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Chip and Dip Day which celebrates the favorite snack combo of chips and dipping sauce. A dip or dipping sauce is a common condiment for many types of food. Dips are used to add flavor and texture to a food. You can try out numerous variations of dips on National Chip and Dip Day and combine them with just as many sorts of chips.
Today is also National Puppy Day and World Meteorological Day

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Food is the most primitive form of comfort.
Sheila Graham
I love chips and dips of all kinds. I’m a snacker. I found a new to me recipe so I’m sharing it today.
Milion Dollar Dip
1 1/2 c. mayonaise
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
4 green onions chopped
1/2 c.precooked bacon bits
1/2 c. slivered almond
1 tsp garlic, minced
chips for dipping
In large bowl, add mayonnaise, cheddar cheese, green onions, slivered almonds, garlic, and bacon bits. Use a spatula to thoroughly mix together. Best served chilled with tortilla chips or other snacks for dipping.
If it wasn’t for snacking, I’d probably be a whole thinner for sure. But then, sometimes chips and dip are a meal for me so that’s ok.
Today I’m cooking up my meal for the weekend. Nothing fancy but cooked in one pot and its simple and easy.
One Pot Chicken Broccoli and Rice
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
4 boneless chicken breast halves
1 can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp pepper
2 c. minute rice, uncooked.
2 c. froszen brocolli
Heat oil in skillet. Add chicken and cook until browned. Remove chicken.
Add soup, water, paprika and pepper, then stir. Heat to a boil. Stir in rice and broccoli. then top with chicken. Season chicken with additional paprika and pepper.
Cover and cook over low heat 5 minutes or until rice and broccoli are done. Serves 4.
This is another one of what I call comfort foods. I’ll be using 6 chicken drumsticks instead of the breasts as that is what I happen to have on hand.
I did see some huge snowflakes mixed with the rain yesterday morning, but they say it’ll be sunny and the 40’s today.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.

GOD BLESS YOU!

It's a great day to take a dip and enjoy it !
Love, love, love chips and salsa! Happy Sunday.
I too like chips and dip. So many yummy combinations of them out there. Your cooking sounds so delicious too, Ma! I like how you cook meals like this and then eat them over a few days.
betty
I, too, could (and have!) made a meal out of chips and dip! My favorites are the cheesy/creamy variety, so this is right up my alley. BTW, Tom and I are making your slow-cooker spaghetti tonight. The kitchen's going to smell soooo good! Happy Saturday!
With Mevely, I have and could have made a meal out of chips and dip. mmmm
My goodness! TWO good recipes to make! Only 90 days to summer! My Amber and her quadruplets are anxious for it to get here! They are all summer babies and love that season best of all. I’m a fall baby myself! Do winter babies love winter? I wonder......
