ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Mom and Pop Business Owners Day which celebrates small business owners. These individuals spend countless hours nurturing and growing there enterprises. The workload often translates into long and late hours. But in all , they love what they do. After all they are their own boss.
On the retail side they bring different and unique products to the marketplace. They provide stellar personal service support. Unlike national chains, they know their products. In manufacturing, they create many new concepts and ideas, making them creators of new products.
We can celebrate today by showing our support and shop their stores today, and every day.
It is also National Lemon Chiffon Cake Day and Smoke and Mirrors Day
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day.
Sally Koch
Sadly there are very few small business in our area any more. More and more we see the big chain stores taking over. I do love the small mom and pop stores and restaurants though, their personal service can’t be beat. We often frequent a restaurant here that started our as a Mom and Pop business years and years ago and although it has changed owners over the years, it’s still a favorite place to go.
It’s finally Friday and this weekend will be the last one we’ll have in the Month of March. Monday will be April 1st, April Fools Day, so be prepared. For lack of any new pictures, todays photos are of the beautiful Easter lily I received last year.
It’s been a busy week here but I did get a lot done, so I’m not complaining. I still have more to do so on the bright side, today will be another busy day for me. No lack of things to da around here, ever. It’s all good!
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

So small things with great love.
My parents had a small grocery store in a very small town and it served the community as well as allowing them to make a living. They ran it for over 5o years and whenever people came back to visit it was the place to go. Beautiful lilies.
I'm happy to say our little town has a lot of unique Mom-n-Pop stores. And restaurants. A new teahouse just opened, and I can hardly wait to visit it with my girlfriend. Our town still has a lot of old-fashioned charm, and it's thrilling to see its rebirth with the influx of these new places.
Smoke and Mirror Day, huh? Well, I quit smoking a long time ago, and I avoid mirrors as much as possible, so I reckon I'll just have to make a cake. :)
Have a wonderful weekend. "See" you in May!
Such a pretty lily! I like to try out mom and pop restaurants. When we travel, I try to look them up and stay away from the chain ones if possible. They are always so good and never disappointing!

Whenever possible, I make it a point to shop mom-and-pop establishments. 3 years ago one of my favorite managers walked away from his 19-year position to rehab and run an old motel in the White Mountains. We were fortunate to visit before relocating; it did my heart so good to see Stephan and his wife so relaxed and happy. Not getting rich by any means, but doing what they love.
