ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Bird Day which celebrates the beauty, song and flight of birds as well as the important part they play in the earth's ecosystem.
Birds are important. Many of them sing and quite of few of them look pretty. The study of birds has been a popular pastime every since the Victorian Era and the term bird watch first appeared in the title of a book in 1901. Millions of people consider them selves bird watchers.
National Bird day is also dedicated in part to raising awareness about birds held in captivity. It is said that 12 percent of the world's bird species could face extinction in the next century. We can celebrate today by learning all about the wonders of birds and educating ourselves as the survival of the world’s birds hinges on public awareness as well as support for conservation.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Look to the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Matthew 6:26
I do love to watch the birds and they can provide a lot of entertainment, especially for those that feed the birds. In the winter time I don’t see many here and am looking forward to Spring when they will return from their southern habitats to northern Ohio.
I also have a small collection birds, the ceramic kind, and I’m sharing a few of them in the pictures today. My little brown bird is always a part of any of my holiday decorations, as he reminds me that God is always watching over us. I have blue birds for happiness and even a white one for peace too. Birds are wonderful and I like the reminders they bring.
After a warm and sunny start on Monday, we had rain move in and today we are to drop down a few degrees. It was wonderful to be warmer, but I’m still thankful for normal temps and not the zero degree days of last week.
Normal days can be wonderful!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The woods would be a very silent place if no birds sang except those who sang the best

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
The reason birds can fly and we can’t is simply because they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.

Changes are coming. Blogger says they are making changes and who knows what that means for me. I can only hope to continue blogging and commenting on others blogs too. We can only wait and see.
Love the picture of the bird on the heart quilt:) and also the quote. Happy Tuesday.
Such cute birds you have, Ma! I do miss our bird watching and bird feeding from when we lived in Prescott and elected not to get feeders down here. Occasionally there are a few birds that I see in the backyard. We have a lot of pigeons which I'm not too fond of, but they are God's creation so I should try to enjoy them :)

I was so surprised (and pleased) to see how much my friend enjoyed sitting out front and watching the birds at the feeder. I mean, Tom can do that for hours on end, but I didn't realize my BFF shares that passion.
BTW, I finally remembered to resurrect my own little brown bird from the hope chest. After 50 years, he/she sits on the bookcase in my office keeping watch.
Cute post and great words to live by.
I love watching the birds feed off the feeder I put out for them. Happy Bird Day.
