ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Sticky Bun Day which gives us the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast pastry made with leavened dough. Traditional recipes call for a glazed topping with pecans, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon and butter.
The first people to add honey and nuts to their bread were the Ancient Egyptians. Glazed pastries have been popular here ever since the German settlers in Pennsylvania created our modern day sticky buns. They were originally call Schnecken and are still considered a Philadelphia specialty.
To celebrate simply buy or bake some Sticky Buns today and eat as many as possible!

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Truth be told being a grandma is as close as we every get to perfection. The ultimate warm sticky bun with plump raisins and nuts.
Bryna Nelson Paston
Life is sometimes a little like a pan of sticky rolls. It is always better when we stick together. Together we can alway do more than when we’re alone.
Although I have been to Philadelphia to visit with friends years and years ago, I didn’t realize that it was famous for Schnecken. I’d never heard of them before, so I looked for a recipe. To my surprise a found one using Crescent Rolls.
Easy Schnecken / Sticky buns
2 cans crescent rolls
Raisins
Cinnamon
Sugar
1/2 c. melted buter
Light Karo Syrup
Open a can of rolls and press together perforated areas to make 1 sheed of dough. Roll out on floured board. Brush with melted butter. Sprinkle about 1/2 cup of sugar and then some cinnamon and approximately 4 mini boxes of raisins over dour. Roll slowly as making a jelly roll. Cut into 12 pieces 1 inch thickness.
Pour just enough Karo syrup into muffin tins to cover the bottom. Place each piece of rolled cough into the pan on top of syrup. Bake at 350 degrees approximately 20 minutes until brown. Remove from pan, invert, immediately onto a plate. Repeat with the second can to yield 24 rolls.
The pictures today are from last year when I discovered my favorite cinnamon rolls at a gas station we’d stopped at. They are called Cinnabons. They are very rich and melt in your mouth. I’d not had one in a long time, and haven’t had one since either. But, oh my, I do love them.
I hope you all have a GREAT day! Happy Thursday!

We ask this through Christ our Lord.

Sticking together through thick and through thin....
We have Cinnamons here. They are in lots of the shopping malls, little kiosks. Before dieting, hubby would get a six pack and share some with son/family and keep at least 2 for him (I rarely indulged). They are really delicious for sure! We definitely do need to stick together with each other through every walk of our lives.
betty
I've seen those Cinnabon kiosks in airports and food courts, but never dared to get too close! That recipe sounds really novel to bring along when our family has occasion to get together. (Hmmm... Easter Schnecken?)
