ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Wave All Your Fingers at Your Neighbor day which is a day to greet your neighbor with a big wave. With this small gesture of kindness comes a good feeling for both of you. It's so much friendlier than to simply nod and pass by each other. Combined with a smile, the waving might be the start up for a nice conversation and maybe one day for a new friendship.
Without a doubt, this day was created to put a smile on your face and upon you neighbors. It’s intent is to be friendly and create better relationships.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
All will concede that in order to have good neighbors, we must also be good neighbors.
That applies in every field of human endeavor.
Harry S. Truman
I happen to live close to my neighbors here, but I rarely see them. It’s the quietest neighborhood, I’ve ever lived in. I have met a few that are very friendly, but they keep to themselves for the most part. I see more of them in the summertime when they get outdoors and do yard work.
Good neighbors are a treasure and I appreciate this quiet neighborhood. I might not see them often, but sometimes that can be a good thing. Loving God, loving yourself and loving your neighbor are the keys to life’s happiness. When you help another with love, you are helped too.
I haven’t done much cooking at all this week, but I did see that it was National Fettuccine Alfredo Day, so I thought I’d share a recipe that I hope to mix up here at my house later on.
Fettuccine Alfredo
12 oz. fettuccine
salt
1/4 c. buter
3/4 c. Parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
Freshly ground black pepper
Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water, stirring occasionally until done. Drain, reserving 2 cups pasta cooking liquid. Put 1 cup of pasta cooking liquid in a large skillet. Bring to a gentle simmer then whisk in butter, a piece at a time until melted. Whisking constantly, gradually add cheese, make sure it is complete melted. Add pasta and toss to coat, adding more liquid as needed , until sauce covers noodles completely. Serve topped with pepper and more cheese.
You can also add chicken or shrimp if you’d like. But I think I’ll have mine plain with a fresh side salad.
I’m to have an early start to my day because I’m going to a Grandparents breakfast at one of my grandson’s school this morning. I’m always up early, but rarely out early, but this is a special occasion.
I hope you all have a GREAT day. Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Gratitude is something of which none of us can give too much. For on the smiles, the thanks we give, our little gestures of appreciation, our neighbors build their philosophy of life.
A.J. Cronin
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6772. for good neighbors
6773. for a simple supper
6774. for breakfast with a grandson
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Waving at you all today saying hello! Have a great day!
Waving back to you, Ma! I do agree that a quiet neighborhood is a good one, even if one doesn't get to see much of their neighbors. Ours is relatively quiet too. I'm trying to make a point to wave to neighbors and say hi. Hopefully might meet more of them this year too!
betty
I hope you enjoyed the Grandparents breakfast, MA. Our grandgirls used to have those at their previous school but not so much anymore, at the public school they go to. Seems that things like "Muffins with Mom" and "Donuts with Dad" are an obsolete thing, in some places, because they don't want to make the kids feel bad who don't have a Mom or Dad. I miss the way things used to be. Have a great day, Andrea xoxo
I fixed fettuccine Alfredo yesterday! I added tuna to it and we had salad and green peas. I mixed up the leftover peas with the pasta and we’ll eat that for lunch today.
Our neighborhood is quiet, too. I know many of our neighbors though. You’re right, warm weather makes for a more active neighborhood!
Hope you had a good breakfast with your grandson. It’s good when they want you to come to these things. Next week I’m going to the quads Valentines Party. Amber has the four divided into two classes so that means extra family can help! Glad she didn’t put each child in a different class! One quad family did that and bless that mother’s heart!
What a nice thought! Yes, a little wave is certainly friendlier than a nod … but not as overly familiar as blowing a kiss. (LOL … imagine your neighbors' thoughts!) Thankfully, most folks in our neighborhood seem friendly enough. My only concern is with so many folks' tinted windows, someone might be waving at me and I don't see them … so just in case I always try and remember to wave.
A Grandparents breakfast is such a cute idea! I hope to see pictures (if you were allowed)!
Waving at you from down South!
