ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Umbrella Day, which honors the one of the worlds greatest inventions, the humble umbrella, for shielding you from the elements all year long. In ancient times umbrellas were used only by nobility and the rich. But in the 18th century they became a popular woman’s fashion accessory and by the end of the 19th century, umbrellas had become a household item. Although umbrellas are sometime called parasols, parasols may not always be waterproof and usually intend to shield people from the sun.
Umbrellas come in all shapes and sizes, colors and shapes and designs. The smallest fits inside a purse or glove compartment. Golf umbrellas are popular sizes. Then there a lawn and beach umbrellas.
If you don’t have an umbrella, maybe today would be the perfect time to get one.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The way I see it, if you want the rainbow, you gotta put up with the rain.
Dolly Parton
I do have several different sizes of umbrellas here at my house. I have one for the purse, one in the car in case I get caught out in the rain, and one by the door that is the size of a golf umbrella, that Ill take outdoors when I go to the mailbox when it’s raining. I have even used an umbrella for shade when it’s hot out and I don’t have any shade around. One of my umbrellas even has a handle on it and I can use it as a walking stick, when walking about on uneven ground.
My all time favorite umbrella is of course a beach Umbrella as my favorite place to be is the beach . The pictures today are of the umbrellas here around the community pool where I live. I like the sunshine, but when it is hot out a little shade is a good thing.
It’s Sunday morning and I’m reminded that God is my umbrellas sheltering me from the storms of life and I don’t leave home without it. So I’m off to church as usual today to worship, praise, and give thanks. That one hour a week gives me the needed refreshment and renewal for the new week ahead.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!

our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Let your smile be your umbrella on a rainy day...
A little smile, a word of cheer,

A Sunday well spent means a week of content !
Great advice, a smile is perfect in any weather..
I like your analogy about God and umbrellas. He truly does shield us, doesn't he? It is good to have umbrellas around to keep the rain off of us or shield us from the sun. Lots of people use umbrellas during the hot summer months here when they are outside. I think it is a wise thing to do.

Umbrellas have sure come a long way in portability and design. Even some museums have taken to silk screening famous images on them … how fun, no? That's a great idea about using yours as a walking stick! I love thinking about God as our ultimate umbrella.
Whenever our area has rain, stores set out a box filled with kinda cheap umbrellas, each $2.99.
We have a collection of those umbrellas in our car and garage.
