ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is National Chocolate Covered Peanuts Day which is a great reason to celebrate a popular sweet treat. Dipping nuts ;and fruit into chocolate became popular from the 19th century onward. The first nuts covered in chocolate were sold commercially in America in 1925, with Goobers being the oldest brand.
Coated nuts have a reputation for being a snack to enjoy while watching movies along with popcorn. Many brands are available to buy ;but it’s more fun and cheeper to make your own. All you need to do is melt some chocolate in a pan, add the peanuts and stir. Then allowing the nuts to cool before eating.
So just go nuts today and enjoy !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
February is merely as long as is needed to pass the time until March
J.R. Stockton
I do love nuts and chocolate so this is one day I’ll be celebrating for sure! Even though they are easy enough to make, I didn’t make my own, but picked some up yesterday when I stopped at the store for my Sunday paper. I do have some mixed nuts here though left from the holidays that really should be used up, so I found a recipe to share and will probably use it soon.
Nut Clusters
!/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. evaporated milk
1 tbsp. light corn syrup
6 oz. semisweet chocolate morsels
3/4 c. roasted salted nuts
Combine sugar, milk and corn syrup in a 2 quart saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture reaches soft ball stage. Remove from heat; add chocolate morsels, and beat with wooden spoon until chocolate melts. Stir in nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoon onto waxed paper. Chill until set.
We have had some very high winds here, but today it’s supposed to calm down. Thankfully there was no damage here and I never lost power, but many did. Our temps have also gone down. Sunday morning we were in the 50’s, today we’re in the 20’s. This whole month has been one huge roller coaster ride as far as the weather goes.
These last few days of February will be cold ones for sure and but it looks like March may be coming in like a lamb with temps raising above freezing. Today I’m hoping to finsh up my decorating for Spring. and run the vacuum. The house now has a new look. Nice and cheerful with colorful Spring colors. About the only thing that will change as we get closer to Easter will be the tablecloths. So March and April are now covered as far as decorating goes anyway..
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
February builds a bridge and March breaks it.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6826. for nuts and chocolate, salty and sweet
6827. for Spring inside, even though it’s winter outside
6828. for hope, we always need hope
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
In the coldest February, as in every other month in every other year, the best thing to hold on to in this world is each other.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

the sweet and salty is always a good match.
Those Easter bunnies are cute ones, Ma! So festive! I do like chocolate covered nuts; I agree the salt and the sweet are a good combination. We had cold days last week but thankfully this week it will be in the mid 70s. Looking forward to that!

I know, right? The weather patterns this month are crazy. Until yesterday, we were in the mid-80's; I was really wrestling with the thought of engaging the a/c.
That amorous bunny on the right cracks me up! Surrounding yourself with seasonal knick-knacks is a great idea!
I've never tried melting my own chocolate; simpler to buy in small quantities, for sure.
