ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Presidents Day which celebrates Washington’s birthday. Americans used to celebrate both Washington’s Birthday and Lincolns birthday in the month of February. Then in 1968, Congress passed the Uniform Holidays Bill, which moved the observance of Washington’s Birthday from February 22nd, to the third Monday in February.
No matter what you call it, today is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all American Presidents and pay tribute to the contributions they have made to this country.
This February holiday has also become well known for being a day in which many stores hold sales.
Happy President’s Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Honesty is always the best policy.
George Washington
As this is a Federal holiday, our banks are closed and the mail won’t be delivered. Schools are also closed, so for many this is a 3 day weekend. Many city and government offices are close too.
I did my part by going Presidents Day Sale shopping on Saturday, but was a bit disappointed as there were not the sales that we’d previously experienced. It’s become a tradition for DD and I to go shopping and we’ve done it for many years now dating back to the days when she was still in school and had the day off. I'd take the day as a vacation day as my place of employment didn’t give us the day off.
George Washington was the founding Father of our country. our first President, and deserves our respect and honor. It’s not all about the shopping for sure. He is celebrated for his leadership in the founding of our nation. He is known for his truthfulness and honesty.
I can honestly say I’m thankful that I live in such a great country.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Truth will ultimately prevail where there is pains to bring it to light.
George Washington
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6805. for all our great Presidents, especially George Washington
6806. for a wonderful country to live in
6807. for honesty, always the best policy
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

You look great in your patriotic sweater, Ma! I'm working today, as is hubby, but DIL has the day off, along of course with her daughter who is in school. Hubby enjoyed a shorter commute this morning since so many were off. I'm thankful there are people who want to run for public office, including president. Certainly something I wouldn't want to do!
betty
I recall my parents - both government employees - observing President's Day with a 100-mile drive to Albuquerque's 'white' sales. While at the casino today I glimpsed so many folks in patriotic shirts and hats. Nice.
