ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is National Gumdrop Day which celebrates a favorite candy for many, the gumdrop. Gumdrops are brightly colored candy made of pectin or gelatin. The cone shaped treats are typically covered in sugar and are usually fruit flavored.
Gumdrops that are flavored with artificial spices like cinnamon and mint are called spice drops. Gumdrops can also be used to decorate cakes and gingerbread houses.
It’s easy to celebrate this day. Just get a bag of gumdrops and enjoy them to your hearts content.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
No winter lasts forever: no spring skips its turn.
Hal Borland
It seems I’ve had my fill of candy these days. I am still snacking on chocolates made over Christmas. So I have no gumdrop pictures to share for today. What I do have are thoughts of Spring and that is what the pictures are all about today.
I was going to wait until March to get my decorations for Spring out of storage, but I’m thinking now that Valentines Day is over, they’ll be coming out of the box sooner than later. We’ve been on cycle of roller coaster weather days here. One day we are mid 40’s, the next day we’re to be back down in the 20’s. Spring is trying to make its way north but with little success. One day we are warmer the next we are freezing once again. The snow starts to melt and then we get more.
I know we have about a month of winter left as far as the calendar goes, but here at my house I am ready for Spring to come. I can almost see buds starting to form on the trees. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart; I breathe at this hour the fragrance of lilacs, the violets and the roses, as of twenty years ago.
Victor Hugo
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6796. for thoughts of Spring, no winter lasts forever.
6797. for season decorations, it’s winter outside, but Spring inside
6798. for sweet treats, always good
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant, if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.
Charlotte Bronte
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

No winter lasts forever...
Love the picture of the glass rabbit but even better is the embroidered doily it is sitting on.
Good idea to start spring decorating now, Ma. Won't be long and the weather will be more cooperative and spring like! Yum on gumdrops. Haven't had them in a few years, but always tasty when I do have some.

I'm not a fan of eating gumdrops, but they're so pretty and versatile! Like Monica (Changes in the Wind) commented, right way I noticed the embroidered doily. So pretty!
I love gumdrops, but I haven't "let" myself have them for quite some time. My mother-in-law introduced me to them, and after she realized how much I liked them, she made sure to stock up on them whenever we visited. I miss her a lot more than the gumdrops...
Have a wonderful weekend!
