ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

WELCOME MAY
The month of May is Foster Care Month, Gifts From the Garden Month, National Barbecue Month, National Bike Month, National Blood Pressure Month, National Hamburger Month, National Photograph Month, National Recommitment Month, National Salad Month and Older Americans Month.
Today is May Day which has been celebrated on the first of May for hundreds of years. May Day is a celebration of spring. One of the most popular May Day traditions is the maypole dance .
Another popular tradition is that of giving May baskets full of spring flowers to friends and neighbors.
Celebrate today with a bouquet of flowers! Happy May Day!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The May pole is up,
Now give me the cup;
I’ll drink to the garlands around it;
But first unto those
Whose hands did compose
The glory of flowers that crown’d it.
Robert Herrick.
The first few days of May are to be just beautiful here at my house. Spring has finally sprung and the temps are warm once more. I am thoroughly enjoying each and every warm moment.
One of the very first things on my list of things to get this month is a bicycle tire pump as with the nicer days I’m anxious to get out on my bike and get some much needed exercise. I have some very flat tires and I’m hoping it’s only because that sat outside in the cold all winter.
Meanwhile the grass is growing and although my yard still has standing puddles, I’m hoping it will soon dry up and I can begin lawn mowing season. You know once you start you’ll be mowing for the rest of the season. Exercise in any form is badly needed and along with Spring Cleaning, I’m hoping it will make a difference.
Time to get up and at 'em as this begins one of the busiest months ever for me. There will be lots of preparation for celebrations and lots of celebrations coming my way. They say that busy hands make for a happy heart and mine will be full to busting!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday! Happy May !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The years’ at the spring
And day’s at the morn;
Morning’s at seven;
The hillside’s dew pearled;
The lark’s on wing;
The snail’s on the thorn;
God’s in His heaven -
All’s right with the world!
Robert Browning
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5936. for a day to celebrate Spring and May flowers
5937. for busy hands, making a happy heart
5938. for much needed exercise
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Happy May Day to you! I’m over in Quadville a good bit this week helping with the kids. It’s so beautiful back along the green belt behind their house! I know you are glad to see Spring! That is a fancy bike you have! I love it!
Biking is great exercise! Hoping you'll be back on yours before long! I can't believe it is May already! So true once the mowing starts, its a weekly thing for the remainder of the season and then the leaves will give you more exercise down the road. Glad May is filled with anticipation of lots of celebrations and fun times!
betty
It took me a moment to notice that squirrel ... so cute!
I've few childhood memories that remain, but a favorite was my parents helping me make little construction paper cones w/ handles ... filling them with wild flowers and hanging them on our neighbors' door.
Come to think of it, yes. I guess I did play 'ding, dong, ditch' back before it got that name!
Happy May Day!
