ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Memorial Day which is officially celebrated on the last Monday of the month of May. Memorial Day is dedicated to service men and women who gave their lives for freedom and country. It’s also a time to remember loved ones who have passed away. The roots of Memorial Day goes back to 1865 and the end of the Civil War.
Memorial Day was traditionally held on the 30th of May until it was changed in 1971 in order to afford a three day holiday by making it a Monday holiday.
A National Mement of Remembrance occurs at 3 p.m. local time across the nation. Today is a day to take time to follow a Memorial day tradition: attend a parade and visit a cemetery to honor our servicemen and lost loved ones.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
And I’m proud to be an American,
where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.

Memorial Day weekend is also the unofficial kick off to summer and is often celebrated with picnics, family gatherings and barbecues. Here at my house our family gathering was for a graduation and that is what the pictures are of today.
Our Princess and her family, DDIL#1, our Prince Charming and our Sweetheat
We celebrated the graduation of our Princess on Saturday. We had thought it might rain, but the overcast skies cleared out and it was sunny and hot for the ceremony and the party afterward. The party was indoors in an air conditioned room, and we were thankful for that.
Although we weren’t late, even a bit early for the ceremony at the high school stadium, we found ourselves without a seat and stood by the fence watching the proceedings. Our weather turned very summer like with temps in the upper 80’s and it was a hot and humid day.
I'm a very proud and happy grand'ma'
Our Star who had graduated on the previous Thursday was also in attendance with his family and I managed to get a picture of the two of them together. As people came in to the party I tried to get their pictures but was not always successful. There was lots of friends and family there.

This happy day was one of those milestone moments for our Princess and one I know she’ll never forget.
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Memorial Day Monday!

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
6017. for happy family celebrations
6018. for a time set aside to remember loved ones and honor our servicemen
6019. for sunshine, even when your feel like wilted lettuce

Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

Glad you had a fun graduation party! The weather has been kinda hot here too in the last week or so - Katy and Cody are headed into the 100's in Texas. Already! Summer not even hardly here yet. Hope you keep cool and enjoy your Monday.
Neat that you could get the two graduate pictures with the two cousins! Looked like a fun time! So glad for Memorial Day to honor those that gave their lives for our freedom. It is nice to see events being held to honor them too at places here in Phoenix area.

How wonderful that your Princess' g'ma, aunts, uncles and cousins were able to come together to celebrate she and Star! Good that the rain didn't interfere with graduation itself ..... but oh my, how those seniors must have suffered under the caps and gowns!
Hope you're indulging in a restful day!
All great photos today but I am especially loving the ones of you with the grands! You are pretty in pink and that last one of you with an umbrella sitting on the curb is priceless!!
Happy Memorial Day Pam! I especially enjoyed seeing all of the photos today of you with your family. I love your pretty pink outfit and beautiful smile. My favourite photo is the one of you with your grands and the Umbrella, which is adorable, but I confess I also love the one of you with BOTH of your grads! God bless! xoxo
