The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Merry Christmas from my house to yours !
Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Go Caroling Day which is a wonderful, rewarding, and memory filled day. By far more popular decades ago, Christmas holiday caroling is a great opportunity to enjoy the holiday and appreciate its meaning.
Christmas caroling remains popular in many area and among many groups. Scouts and youth groups often partake in this special musical event. Even family parties and business parties sometimes produce an impromptu caroling event.
It may take a little planning to make your Christmas Caroling happen. For example, scout groups frequently go caroling to nursing homes and senior citizen centers. A phone call to the facility management to arrange a date and time is a must. Transportation to and from the facility also must be arranged. And, afterwards, a caroling event is often topped off with hot chocolate and cookies.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Christmas is time to sing 'Happy Birthday' to someone in the form of Christmas carols.
Carmen Rutlen
I’ve many happy memories of Christmas caroling with the scouts and the youth group at church. It is very rewarding to see the happy smiles of those that you are singing too. We used to also have carolers go through the neighborhood singing too and I give them a treat of Christmas cookies.
Of course we sing Christmas carols in church too and we have a wonderful choir that delights us with their music every Sunday, but especially on Christmas. These dedicated people spend hours practicing and preforming !
It’s the most wonderful time of the year and music plays a important part in it.
Even though we are to warm up close to the 40’s for a couple of days, they are now saying that Christmas day will have a high of 25 degrees and a chance of snow showers. So enjoy this unusual weather while we have it…winter officially arrives tomorrow and Christmas will soon be here.
Today’s pictures are the last of our family Christmas gathering for this year. But Christmas isn’t until next Monday when I’ll be going to church Christmas eve with the little shepherds and angels so I’m sure there will be lots more pictures coming in the days ahead.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
I heard the bells on Christmas Day
Their old, familiar carols play,
And wild and sweet
The words repeat
Of peace on earth, good will to men!
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Sangria Day! This refreshingly fruity drink is the perfect cure for your winter blues. There are thousands of different variations of sangria that combine such ingredients as sliced fruit, honey, sugar, juice, carbonated soda, red or white wine, and other alcohols. Each combination changes the flavor, alcohol content, and carbonation of the sangria.
I found a recipe for a non alcoholic variety that sounds pretty good so that’s what I’m sharing today.
Non Alcoholic Sangria for Kids
46 ounce bottle white grape juice.
2 cups lemon lime soda, divided
Fresh fruit of your liking, can be strawberries, oranges, limes, peaches, sliced.
Slice all fruit. If you aren't worried about looks, you can add the fresh fruit slices right to the bottle the fruit juice comes in. If you want a little nicer presentation, pour the juice in to a pitcher and then add the fruit. Cover and let sit for a few hours to overnight.
To serve, pour the fruit infused juice in a glass and top with approximately 1/2 cup of lemon lime soda. Can be served over ice. Garnish with some of the fruit added to the juice.
This is something I’d enjoy myself, it wouldn’t have to be just for the kids.
COUNTING MY GIFTS

I’ve really enjoyed seeing your dear family photos! My favorite is the last one, of course! And I dearly love that Santa Suit Sweater!
That last photo really made me smile Pam! Such happy faces. I have enjoyed seeing all the Christmas sweaters and that non-alcoholic sangria will come in handy! I do love the Carols of Christmas. We sing them in church the whole month through and of course there will be a special carol service on Christmas Eve. Thank you so much for all that you share so lovingly with us all. A very Merry Christmas to you and your family Pam! Love and hugs to you all. xoxo
