ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Merry Christmas from my house to yours !
Life is a Special Occasion!

Today is Look for an Evergreen Day To many people, only a fresh cut real tree will do for Christmas. The scent of fresh pine helps to capture the feel of the holidays. Nothing looks more real than a real tree, each one with it's own character and appearance.
There is no shortage of types of Christmas trees. Generally classified as firs, spruces, and pines, the most popular varieties have changed over the years. Personal preference will determine whether you select a short needle, or long needled tree.
If you haven't selected a tree yet, it is certainly getting late. As we researched this special day, we questioned the timing. By the 19th of December, most people have found and put up their Christmas tree. So if you are still treeless, this special day could be the day to do so.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree.
How lovely are thy branches.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree.
How lovely are thy branches.
Your boughs so green in summertime.
Stay bravely green in wintertime.
Old German Folk Song
It may seem late for getting a Christmas tree, but I do remember a time in days past that people waited till Christmas Eve to bring a tree into the house.
Many of us have had a tree up and decorated since the 1st week in December. My little table top trees are artificial so I don’t worry about them drying out and needles dropping all over, but by the time Christmas come, there will be those that will deal with a lot of dropping needles. They are very hard to clean up.
It’s important to make sure that a live tree is kept watered to keep it fresh longer. Maintaining your evergreen while it's in your home will ensure that it looks its best and also prevent potential safety hazards. It will also make cleanup easier when Christmas is over and it's time to say goodbye to the tree.
The next few days we are promised some partly sunny skies and warmer weather. It will certainly make for some pleasant days for those that still have shopping to finish up. The snow of last week is fast becoming a thing of the past.
I for one am thankful for the break in the weather. Clearing snow is not something I want to spend my days doing. There are so many other things I prefer to do and it zaps my energy for doing much of anything else.
Today’s pictures are of Saturday’s snow ball fights and snowmen the grand babes made. They could have stayed outside all day!
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree. In the eyes of children, they are all thirty feel tall.

Our tree went up last week--and for the first time in many years we have a real tree. It's a table tree but fairly tall. The men who work on our grounds got them and put them up for any of our "living units" in our motherhouse who wanted a real one. They even put the lights on! We added the balls etc. Have to admit it looks pretty good. A merry and blessed Christmas to you and your family!
I have a little fake tree too. I am not ready to tackle pine needles anymore, or that big snow either. I love the little quote about the height of the Christmas tree. Stay warm!!
Kids and snow, such a great combination for lots of fun!

We collected $5 and said 'goodbye' to our artificial tree during Saturday's garage sale. It was a beauty, but way over-sized for our home.
I remember my dad (born in 1912) reminiscing about their childhood tree not going up until Christmas eve.
I, too, have a little fake tree now. I do miss having a real one. The smell of a real tree is amazing. Love your Christmas Tree Quote. I am like you about snow. Iappreciate it for Christmas, but the rest of the year it can take a hike off to elsewhere! I loved it when I was a child however. Most children do. Maybe we need to take a page our of their books and make more snowmen and snow angels and have a few snowball fights! Your muffin recipe looks delicious. Two of my favourite things, apples and oats! Yum! God bless! xoxo
