ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is the First Sunday of Advent which is a very special time, as Christians wait and prepare for the coming of the Lord, Jesus whose birth we celebrate on Christmas. While Santa Claus' arrival is a big big event, we must remember Jesus' birth on earth is much bigger, and the real cause for Christmas.
The Advent Wreath is an important symbol of Advent of the season. It usually sits on the dinner table and is a constant reminder of the holy season. The wreath is of German origin and consists for an evergreen wreath, and four Advent candles. Three candles are purple and one is pink.
The Advent wreath is made up of two basic parts: the wreath itself and the candles.
The wreath is made of evergreen, either real or artificial. It s circular shape represents eternity, for it has no beginning and no end. The evergreen was chosen as it symbolizes growth and everlasting life.
There are four candles, three purple and one pink. They represent the four weeks of preparation. As another candle is it each week, we are reminded of the growing light of Christ's presence.
The meaning of the candles is as follows:
First Purple candle: represents hope.
Second Purple Candle: stands for love.
Third, pink candle: represents joy.
Fourth purple candle: is a symbol of peace.
Make it a December to Remember!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
ADVENT
A season of Hope and Expectation
It’s hard to believe that Christmas will soon be here and this year Advent will actually only be 3 weeks long as the 4th Sunday of Advent falls on Christmas Eve.
I do keep an Advent Wreath set on the Dining Room table here at my house Thankfully I found it easily
when I unpacked the storage tubs and I had even packed away a new set of candles to use too.
It seems the full Cold Moon of December will radiate the beginning of this holy season too as it will be in view tonight. This full moon is what they call a super moon. A Supermoon happens when a Full Moon or New Moon coincides with the Moon's closest approach to Earth, its perigee.
Remember we all see the same full moon so think of me as I’ll be thinking of you !
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Peppermint Latte Day!
These cold days are the perfect time for a Peppermint Latte. They are really expensive to buy but I found an easy less expensive way to make them.
Poor Man’s Peppermint Latte
First take a few of those White Chocolate Peppermint Kisses and and drop them in the bottom of your mug and pour your coffee in. Then and some sweetener and some creamer and mix well. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle with some crushed candy cane. Yum!
Note: Everyone loves a candy cane during the holiday season, but did you know that their health benefits make them the perfect treat throughout the year? Peppermint oil in candy canes contains a substantial amount of antioxidants, in fact among the highest found in nature.
Peppermint candy canes won't just disguise halitosis, they can destroy it. Peppermint oil in candy canes kills the microbes that cause bad breath. So eat a candy cane and stand under the mistletoe in confidence.
Peppermint has been found to be a soothing force in the gastrointestinal tract, comforting multiple gut
ailments such as irritable bowel syndrome, cramps and nausea.
The menthol in peppermint is known to be an effective decongestant to open up nasal passages and it’s also soothing to the throat can calm dry cough.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
The Light Shines in the darkness
and the darkness did not overcome it
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5494. for time to prepare for Christmas
5495. for candles to light up dark nights
5496. for peppermint, mmmm good and good for you
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Maybe Christmas
he thought,
doesn’t come
from a store,
Maybe Christmas
perhaps means
A Little Bit More.
The Grinch
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Good Sunday morning to you! I’m about to get up and get ready to go to church. Our family has been asked to light the advent candle on Christmas Eve. That will be my daughter, her husband, The quadruplets and my husband and I.
I love the quote from The Grinch. Louis Dean was a school teacher for 25 years and he did plays with How the Grinch Stole Christmas and knows every word of the book by heart! He reads it - or quotes it - every year to the grandchildren!
Wishing you a wonderful new week. It’s still hot in Texas! Decorated the living room tree yesterday while sweating! I had to turn the AC on! Just doesn’t seem right in December!
We saw the moon last night, it was pretty bright already! It is a joyful time in Advent to prepare for the remembrance of the birth of Jesus.

So good to see this Peppermint 'hack'! Unlike hubby, I adore peppermint ... but you're right about those lattes being expensive.
