ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Merry Christmas from my house to yours !
Life is a Special Occasion!

Today’s Reason to Celebrate is Christmas Eve! On this day, much of the world anxiously awaits the festivities of Christmas Day. Many families even celebrate this day as much as Christmas itself!
The Christmas holiday commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, and like many other religions, Christians often begin their celebrations the night before at sunset. This night before Christmas thus has become a holiday of its own, which we all know as Christmas Eve. People will often spend this holiday finishing their holiday shopping, traveling to be with friends and family, and attending holiday parties to await Christmas Day.
There are many ways to spend Christmas Eve and whether you need to send a last minute gift card, bake up a batch of cookies, or do a reading of the classic book, Twas the Night Before Christmas, be sure to celebrate this day with loved ones! Merry Christmas to all, and to all, a good night!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love!

I hope you all are ready for the big day, and are ready to enjoy a wonderful Christmas Eve. My daughter and I spent a great day together yesterday and renewed our love of small towns.
The Root Candle Company that we visited is a little town not far from us and after we went there, we visited a couple of little shops and an old time hardware store. I got a new roasting pan at the hardware store as my old one had a pretty good sized dent in it and I always use it for the roast for New Years Day and that will soon be coming. There were no long lines to stand in at all. One thing to love about small towns…getting away from shopping malls - it is a wonderful thing. DD had to stop for a few groceries too and there wasn’t even a line to stand in there.
On my to do list for today is to finally put my Christmas cards in the mail and then spend some time Christmas Eve at church with all the little angels and shepherds…there may even be a wise man or two or three!
I hope you all have a RELAXING Christmas Eve!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Egg Nog Day which comes but once a year. It celebrates a special, traditional holiday drink. It is consumed with or without Rum. The timing couldn't be any better-- the day before Christmas--- Christmas Eve!
Egg Nog is a seasonal holiday drink. It appears just before Thanksgiving, and is enjoyed by many at the Thanksgiving meal. Consumption then takes a break until the December holidays are in full swing. Consumption of egg nog peaks on Christmas Eve. By the New Year, it is no longer available in stores. If you want eggnog after New Year's you will likely have to make it yourself.
One of my favorite ways to use Egg Nog, besides drinking it, is to make French Toast with it for Christmas morning.
Egg Nog French Toast
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups eggnog
12 slices day old thick cut bread
Yields: 6 servings
HEAT oven to 350 degrees. BEAT eggs and eggnog in medium bowl until blended. POUR 1/2 of the egg mixture into 13 by 9 by 2 inch baking pan. PLACE 6 bread slices in pan; turn slices over and let stand until egg mixture is absorbed. PLACE bread in single layer on well greased baking sheet.
REPEAT with remaining egg mixture and bread, using a second baking sheet.
BAKE in 350 degree oven, turning once, until browned on both sides and no visible liquid egg remains, about 30 minutes.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
And, so, Christmas comes to bless us!
Comes to teach us how to find

And the joy of being kind.

Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their

Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Your time w/ DD yesterday sounds Absolutely Perfect!
I could kick myself for the years wasted, wanting to live in a big city ... but look forward to making up for lost time!
I'm smiling back at the cute selfies you've included here. Those snowflake earrings are great!
