ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is the Fourth of July which is the birthday of our nation. Today, we celebrate and enjoy the freedom that comes with the event that made this day so special.
We enjoy the benefits of the freedom which the framers of the Declaration of Independance signed and ultimately fought for. For us, it is a time for baseball, hot dogs and family picnics. Summer is in full swing and life is good.
Happy Birthday, America !
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.

It’s like an ordinary Tuesday here at my house with grass cutting on the menu. It’s supposed to be a beautiful day to be outside, so I’m thinking that’s where I’m going to be. Either that or on the sunporch. I’ve a pitcher of lemonade in the fridge and a bucket of KFC chicken to eat so all is right with the world.
I’m so thankful to live in a country that is free. In this war torn world many will never know how wonderful it is have such a peace filled day as this.
I found the flag banner in today’s pictures at Aldi’s when I went the other day. I love to look around that store, they seem to have a little bit of everything.
My neighborhood continues to entertain me every evening with fireworks going off. I wonder now since the 4th has finally come, just how long they will continue. We’ll see...
I hope you all have a TERRIFIC Tuesday! Happy 4th of July!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
Today is Barbecue Ribs Day
The barbecue recipe I’m sharing today is done in the crockpot which is a great way to cook in the summertime. The picture above is some thing new to me and they are delicious. Pecans are a favorite of mine.
Barbecued Beef Short Ribs in the Crock Pot
3 lbs. beef short ribs
1 c. water
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. barbecue sauce
1/4 c. cooking wine
Place ribs in crockpot standing. Pure in water and wine. Sprinkle with Worcestershire sauce and salt and pepper. Pour barbecue sauce over ribs. Cook on low approximately 8 hours.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
May the sun in his course visit no land more free, more happy, more lovely, than this our own country!
Daniel Webster
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
5038. for the red white and blue, this is my country!
5039. for pecans, honey roasted are delicious
5040. for spacious skies, for amber waves of grain, for purple mountain majesties
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

Great patriotic banner you found. Sounds like you have a nice day planned. We have had some fireworks in the neighborhood, but not a lot. We will see how tonight goes.

That can of roasted nuts looks soooo good!
Your banner looks really nice! I'll bet your new neighbors really appreciate the little touches you've brought to your home. Happy Independence Day!
Hi Pam! I can't think of anything nicer than a bucket of KFC and some ice cold Lemonade to enjoy the day! Your new house looks nice! Love the banner! I like Aldi too. Its one of my favourite shops and the prices are right! Oh boy honey roasted pecans. I could eat those til I drop! Happy Independance Day! xoxo
