ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Once we discover how to appreciate the timeless values in our daily experiences, we can enjoy the best things in life.
Harry Hepner
It’s the weekend and many take these days off work to relax and do some fun things. Truth is we need to take some time every day, even a few minutes, to relax and do something fun.
Learning to relax is extremely important for your health and well being. They say that taking breaks is the key. Taking time out for a cup of tea and looking out the window or sitting on a park bench will help. Reading a book, going for a walk, or listening to music also helps. Taking vacations and making wise use of your time off is important too.
Raising your laughter quota is a great stress reliever. Laughter is truly good medicine. When you take time to relax, you become more productive. Remember to look for the good things in life and count your blessings.
The picture above is DS#5 who turned the wrong way at the wrong time this week and wound up in the emergency room with some excruciating back pain. After hours of testing they said he apparently had a pinched nerve. Sent him home with meds and told him to rest and apply ice. Hopefully he’ll be much better soon.
I hope you all have a SUPER Saturday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s National Blueberry Day.
In addition to tasting great, blueberries are load with fiber and rich in antioxidants. They are one of the healthiest fruits you can eat. They lower cholesterol to promote heart health, reduce the risks of cancer and even help to slow the aging process.
Blueberry Muffins
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick butter, melted
1 egg slightly beaten
3/4 c. milk
1 1/2 cups blueberries
1/2 cup brown sugar or white sugar, your choice
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 12 cup muffin tin or use liners.
In a bowl, combine butter, egg and milk and mix well. In another bowl combine the flower, baking powder and sugar. Pour the wet ingredients into the flow mixture and still just till combined. Do not over beat. Gently fold in the blueberries.
Spoon batter in to each cup, filling about 2/3 full. Bake for 10 minutes and remove from oven . Sprinkle tops with sugar of your choice and return muffins to the oven to bake for an addition 10 to 15 minutes, until tops are golden brown and a toothpick interred into the center of a muffins comes out clean. Cool about 10 minutes in the pan before removing them.

Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future. Think how really precious is the time you have to spend, whether it’s at work or with your family. Every minute should be enjoyed and savored.
Earl Nightingale.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Happy Anniversary to your fifth love and his wife! Gosh, I hope his back's loosened up and he's feeling some relief!
I don't think I've enjoyed blueberries since I was 10 or 11 y/o! We kids would go picking near my grandparent's farm and later, Grandma would serve them to us in soup bowls, in a bath of fresh, heavy cream.
