ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Global Hug Your Kids Day which is a day you can get your arms around. The purpose of this day is simple, give your kids a hug or two, so they know you love them. Use a hug to let them enjoy the comfort, safety, and security that a hug provides. Your kids are precious, and should never be taken for granted. Express your love with hugs.
A hug is a way to say everything is or will be okay. Hugs are good in so many ways. They express love, comfort, security, caring and so much more. Give anyone you want a hug today, even if they are not your kids. Hugs are not only good to give, but to get too.
(((HUGS)))
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Never wait until tomorrow to hug someone you could hug today, because when you give one, you get one right back your way.

I certainly appreciate all my kids and while I may not see any of them today, I’m sending out hugs to all. I love hugs and take every opportunity I get to give and get them.
As promised, I’m sharing pictures today of the treasures I found at the greenhouse and junk shop we visited this past Friday. I had previously purchased plant stands for my flower boxes and I wanted to find something to set on the lower shelf of the stands. The green house had planters filled with herbs that filled the bill and they were half the normal price, so I got one for each stand. They also had hanging baskets on sale and I fell in love with 2 that had beautiful begonias in them. I’d never seen begonia plants as big as these were and bought them too.
In the junk shop I found 2 hand towels that fasten over the handle of a kitchen cupboard and are perfect for drying you hands by the sink. They will add a touch of summer to my kitchen. I also found a globe for one of my lamps that was broken in the move. It fits perfectly as you can see in the picture below.
Thankfully my sister and her hubby have a large trunk in their car and could easily hold all my purchases. It was a great trip to the country not only for fresh fruit and veggies, but for flowers and junk too.
I have a nice variety of herbs now. There is parsley, fennel, rosemary and swiss chard in the planters. I’d still like to find some sage and thyme to complete my herb garden. We’ll see…
I hope you all have a GREAT start to this new week. Happy Monday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Peach Ice Cream Day
Peaches are one of the best flavors of the summer season. Most major ice cream makers produce peach ice cream only during the summer and it’s often hard to find it other times of the year.
I found this recipe for a froze peach ice cream pie in a crunchy chocolate crust to share in honor of this holiday.
Peach Ice Cream Pie
7 Tablespoons butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 cups corn flakes
2/3 cup walnuts or pecans, finely chopped, optional
1 1/2 quarts peach ice cream softened
3 ripe fresh peaches
Melt butter in medium saucepan. Reduce heat to low, add brown sugar and chocolates. Stir constantly until ingredients are thoroughly mixed and sugar is dissolved and chelate is melted. Set aside.
In large bow combine corn flakes and nuts. Pour warm chocolate mixture over corn flakes and stir until all flakes are coated. Press gently into 9 inch pie and, forming a crust. Place in freezer till firm.
Fill crust with softened peach ice cream and return to freezer to harden. Just before serving, peel and slice fresh peaches. Cut pie into 6-8 wedges and top each with fresh peach slices.
COUNTING MY GIFTS
A hug is the perfect gift—one size fits all, and nobody minds if you exchange it.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
