ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Today is Global Forgiveness Day which is a day to forgive and a day to be forgiven. People that forgive are happier and healthier than those who hold resentments. Forgiveness can be difficult but extremely important for your own well being.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting.
William Arthur Ward
Life is too short to be angry and hold on to resentments. Any time you are angry is wasted time they say. One of the most important decisions you will ever make is what you do with the time given to you.
Remember you don’t forgive people because you’re weak. You forgive them because you are strong enough to know that people make mistakes. We all do. Sometimes good people make bad choices.
Too often the person I need to forgive the most is myself. Today I’m trying to forgive the fact that this week flew by and I didn’t get much accomplished at all. At least it doesn’t seem like it. No sense though in thinking about what didn’t get done but just get on with what needs be done.
I’ve got some poison ivy growing up the tree outside the sunroom window and even though I bought some spray over a week ago to get rid of it, I haven’t managed to get that done. Today is going to be the day. I’ve some painting to do and I haven’t done it yet. Today I’m going to get started. Today I’m forgiving myself and moving on. It’s going to be a great day!
It’s through the gift of faith that I am blessed. In that faith I see my need to seek forgiveness and to forgive.
Todays pictures are just of few of my family on the 4th of July. I was here at home but many of them sent pictures. We are having quite a thunderstorm to start the day. Lots of noise going on outside. Heavy rain and thunder. Keep dry today. More rain on the way they say.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!
WHAT’S NEW IN THE KITCHEN
There is a food holiday to celebrate every day of the year!
It’s Chocolate Day which is a day to enjoy some delicious treats and indulge. Chocolate is America's favorite flavor. It's the flavor of choice in candies, ice cream, cakes, breakfast cereal, toppings, and a whole host of desserts. Unequaled in popularity, it certainly deserves a day in it's honor.
I found this recipe to make a delicious chocolate summertime dessert to share today.
Cookies and Peanut Butter Chocolate Ice Cream Parfait
Makes 3 Servings
Cookie Crumb Base
3/4 cup graham cracker crumbs or cookies crumbs of choice
2 tablespoons melted butter
Chocolate Ice Cream
1 cup plus 3 tablespoons whipping cream
3/4 cup sweetened condensed milk
2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa
Peanut Butter Cream Mousse
1/4 cup mini Peanut Butter chips
5 Tablespoons whipping cream
1/4 cup whipping cream
Chill your mixing bowl and better in freezer for at least 30 minutes.
For the cookie crumb base, combine cookie crumbs and melted butter and divide between 3 glasses. Small mason jars are the perfect size and can be used instead of glasses. Put in refrigerator.
For the Peanut Butter Cream Mousse heat 3 tablespoons of cream until hot and add Peanut Butter chips, stirring until smooth. Add the remaining 2 tablespoons cream, stir to combine and place in freezer for 10 minutes. Remove and add 1/4 cup cream and beat until soft peaks form. Set aside
For the Chocolate Ice Cream combine the sweetened condensed milk and cocoa and set aside. Remove the bowl and beaters from the freezer, add cream to bowl and beat until firm peaks appear. Stir in a heaping tablespoon into the sweetened condensed milk bowl and stir to combine, then fold in the rest of the whipped cream and fold gently until combined.
Remove glasses from fridge and layer the Chocolate Ice Cream and Peanut Butter Mousse ending with another layer of the chocolate Ice Cream. Place glasses in freezer until layers are firm. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Forgive all who have offended you, not for them, but for yourself.
Harriet Nelson
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

Looks like lots of fun on the 4th. I think when we forgive prople, it helps us not to be bitter. We can forgive, but not necessarily trust right away, depending on the circumstances.

Forgive, yes ... but don't forget; or leave yourself vulnerable. Perhaps?
That recipe sounds downright sinful! :)
Loving how Mother Nature seemed on her best behavior for everyone's 4th of July enjoyment!
