WELCOME APRIL !
April is National Humor Month, International Guitar Month, Keep America Beautiful Month, Lawn and Garden Month, National Poetry Month, National Pecan Month, National Welding Month, Records and Information Management Month and Stress Awareness Month
Today is April Fools Day ! Traditionally, April Fool's Day is an opportunity for playing jokes or tricks on one another. The stranger and the more absurd the better. The challenge is to carry out a trick that is believable, if only for a little while. Tricks are most successful if played earlier in the day before a person is wise to what is going on. Younger children are also more gullible. Any tricks or jokes must be harmless and in good taste for the unsuspecting victim.
Happy April Fools Day !

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
April 1. This is the day upon which we are reminded of what we are on the other three hundred and sixty-four.
Mark Twain
I’ve had a lot of April Fool jokes pulled on me, and I must admit that I’ve pulled off a few pretty good ones myself. But one thing I’ve noticed. No one likes being called a fool, much less being made to look like a fool.
The weather is very often our April Fools Day joke here. Just when you thing spring has sprung winter returns. I’m hoping we don’t get fooled today. I’ve noticed that some times we are tricked into thinking things are not what they seem.
I hope you get to pull off a good April Fools’ joke today. In fact, you may even have a good natured laugh at having one pulled on you. But, while all that is going on, don’t forget that life is too short and too serious to live it as a fool! Remember that everyday will be April Fools Day if you are fooling yourself.
On a totally different wave of thought, I was watching TV the other morning and saw a quick and very easy way to make a cake for Easter. You can use a store bought cake and then place kit kat candy bars around it to make it look like a basket then place candy or plastic easter eggs on top or even jelly beans making it look like a filled Easter basket.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Let us be thankful for the fools. But for them the rest of us could not succeed.
Mark Twain
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2631. for a day just to have fun
2632. for a simple idea for an Easter treat
2633. for warmer weather ahead, the forecast for tomorrow is near 70
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.
Abraham Lincoln
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

That's a cute idea for the cake and the Easter basket theme! And I agree, easy to accomplish! I hadn't forgotten today was April Fool's Day :) We played a good one on son a few years ago saying there was an earthquake and it had closed the road he was going to be traveling on to see his girlfriend. He believed us up to a bit. We were laughing behind our backs as we were trying to pull it off. Eventually we told him April Fool's and we all laughed about it.
I do hope the weather doesn't fool you today!
betty
I used to love playing April Fool's Day pranks on the children when they were growing up and vice versa. Now with no young people in the house, it's not the same. That Easter Basket Cake sounds fab. I will have to remember it for next year! xoxo
