National Stress Awareness Day takes place today, April 16th, the day after Tax Day, April 15th. The day was started by the Health Resource Network in 1992 to raise awareness of stress. National Stress Awareness Day is a good chance to take a deep breath and relax. It’s time to stop and think about what is causing stress in your life and do something to make a positive change.
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The time to relax is when you don't have time for it.
Jim Goodwin
Stress is not just something that makes us feel nervous and edgy; it is a real concern for our health and well being. Stress and anxiety not only negatively affect your emotional and mental health, they can weak havoc on your physical body too.
On the bright side there is much you can do to reduce the impact of stress in your life. Did you know that laughter is one of the most effective ways to reduce stress? No matter how bad things are, laughing dissolves tension and seems to help brighten the situation. Try not to take things too seriously. A negative mood only adds to your level of stress. Another plus is that laughter seems to help boost the immune system, in turn making you less prone to developing colds and other infections.
Instead of worrying over our problems, I believe in taking everything to God in prayer. We need to trust that God in His infinite wisdom can handle things much better than we can.
We need to relax and believe God is in control.
It was a little stressful here at my house yesterday as I waited to hear news of DD’s surgery. Thankfully all went well and she is now back on the road to good health. Thank you to all who prayed for her.
Today’s pictures are a few more of what is blooming around here. Everyday there is more and more signs of new life. It won’t be long now and everything, including the trees will be green. It’s wonderful to see the colors all around us.
I hope you all have a great day ! Happy Thursday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Taking time out each day to relax and renew is essential to living well.

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

2678. for time to relax
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!

Glad to hear your daughter's surgery went well, Ma; I hope she recovers soon and feels all back to normal quickly! How cute with the National Awareness of Stress day coming so close after Tax Day on April 15th. It is good to have ways for stress relief, laughter like you said, exercise is good for others. I know right now I'm feeling stressed with the mandatory overtime at work. Its supposed to ease up soon, which I hope so :)

Love the plants....they are so renewing and make me smile.
Stress is a huge problem in the U.S. It will wreck one's health and peace of mind.
Hope your day is wonderful!
