Life is a Special Occasion!

Today we celebrate Patriots Day, which commemorates the events of April 19, 1775, that marked the start of the American Revolutionary War, especially the midnight rides of Paul Revere and others to warn of the approach of British troops, and the battles of Lexington and Concord.
Massachusetts and Maine celebrate Patriots Day as a legal holiday on the third Monday in April, with reenactments and other events. The annual running of the Boston Marathon also takes place on this day.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY
We can't all be Washingtons, but we can all be patriots.
Charles F. Browne
A patriot is a person who loves and strongly supports or fights for his or her country. I think that it's the reverence for freedom and principle established in our Declaration that guides the zeal of an American patriot. You don't have to serve in the military to be a patriot. Let's not forget about the policemen, public servants, wives, husbands, firemen, all patriots, all living an honorable life.
It looks like it’s going to be a wet start of the week here for us. The grass hasn’t needed to be mowed yet, but I have a feeling that after a few days of rain, it will.
I hope you all have a great start to this new week! Happy Monday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men who died,
who gave that right to me.
Lee Greenwood
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
2688. for our country, I’m proud to be an American
2689. for the brave men and women who died protecting our rights
2690. for all patriots, especially our military, policemen and firemen.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
ADVICE FOR TODAY
He loves his country best who strives to make it best.
Robert G. Ingersoll
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

I didn't realize they did the Boston Marathon the same day as Patriots Day; that is neat! I do think we should all be patriotric since we do live in such a great country; it has its flaws but it sure has lots more freedom than other countries!
