Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
June 26th is Forgiveness Day, a time to forgive and to be forgiven. The world will be a better place for this day. Forgiveness is a two way street. Not only do we ask others to forgive us but for us to forgive others. The problem is not that we don’t know how or that we don’t think it’s worthwhile. The problem is that it’s difficult. Forgive and move on. Now that is something to celebrate!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Forgiveness is a funny thing. It warms the heart and cools the sting.
William Arthur Ward
Forgiveness means that we lay down a grievance and let go of the right to take revenge. We let go of bitterness. We choose to stop dwelling on what the one who hurt us has done. One of the definitions in Webster’s Dictionary says that forgiveness means to: allow room for error or weakness. What would the world be like if we all did just a little more of that?
Forgiveness is ultimately a gift to yourself. You accept what happened, vow to not let it happen again, forgive if possible, and move on. The gift includes love, peace of mind and a renewed focus, free of judgement, Forgiveness is recognizing the reality that what has happened has already happened, and that there’s no point in allowing it to dominate the rest of your life.
Forgive the past, forgive yourself, forgive others, and love the present moment for what it’s worth. Life is to short to waste on anger and bitterness. What if, instead of allowing our minds to go over all of the things that have hurt us, we would remind ourselves to think about all the good things God has brought into our lives? I try to live each day in the present moment. Yesterday is gone, tomorrow may never come and today is the present! Today is a gift!
After several hot and steamy days due to the rain we’ve had, we were blessed with a little cool down yesterday with temps in the lower 70’s ! Today we are to be in the upper 70’s with sunshine. The 80 plus temps return tomorrow. It looks like we are in for a hot summer. Try to keep cool and don’t forget to drink plenty of liquids.
Have a great day everyone ! Happy Thursday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
All forgiveness is a gift to yourself.
A Course in Miracles
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1700 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1796. for forgiveness, we forgive so that we too might be forgiven
1797. for a dry day, after lots of rain the yard always needs mowing
1798. for sunshine, we need it in more ways than one
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
One thing you will probably remember well is any time you forgive and forget.
Franklin P. Jones

A bit of love from someone dear…

I like the thought of a forgiveness day and that forgiveness is a gift we can give ourselves, Ma. I do know if we don't forgive, it can lead to bitterness and no one wants that type of a heart!
