Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
June 14th is Flag Day, is a day for all Americans to celebrate and show respect for our flag, its designers and makers. Our flag is representative of our independence and our unity as a nation.....one nation, under God, indivisible. Our flag has a proud and glorious history. It was at the lead of every battle fought by Americans. Many people have died protecting it. It even stands proudly on the surface of the moon.
As Americans, we have every right to be proud of our culture, our nation, and our flag. So raise the flag today and every day with pride!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
George M. Cohan
Ever since Memorial Day weekend we’ve had some flags flying out on the front porch here. They’ll remain out there for most of the summer. Our flag symbolizes our nations ideas and values. I’m proud to be an American and will gladly put our flag out on display.
It’s a good day to take a few moments to thank God for our freedom and for those who have fought for it. I’m thankful for days that remind us to fly the flag so that I remember just how blessed I am to live in a country like ours.
It’s to be a bit cooler, with a high in the low 70’s, here today with clear skies and sunshine! Tomorrow we’ll heat up again in the 80’s and it looks like we’ll stay that way for the most of next week. I hope you all have a super Saturday and fly your flag!
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
George M. Cohan
COUNTING MY GIFTS
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1700 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1760. for our flag and what it represents
1761. for my washer and dryer that once more got the job done for the week.
1762. for a new Bible Study, it’s keeping me in the Word, this summer
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
Oh! say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.
Francis Scott Key, The Star-Spangled Banner
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

Happy Flag Day... I have my pinwheels to put in the yard that are red, white and blue...
After all the years at the laundry mat, I never take my washer and dryer for granted... :)
How neat with the Bible study, Ma; always good to be in the Word! One of the dentists in town always decorates his building with inflatables of the season, trees for Christmas, etc. Lined all along his property today was flags, neat to see that display for Flag Day!
betty
Happy Flag Day Pam! Saturday was the annual Horse Guards Parade for the Queens Birthday, a very traditional ceremonial thing with lots of colour and music, concluding with a fly pass over Buckingham Palace of several sets of planes, including planes flown in World War 2 and finishing off with the Red Arrows spouting red, white and blue paint! One wonders what will happen is Scotland leaves us. The Union Jack will no longer be correct as a colour will have left! Have a wonderful day!
