Life is a Special Occasion!
Hallmark
Father's Day in the United States is on the third Sunday of June. Father's Day is a celebration of fatherhood and a day to thank Dad. It celebrates the contribution that fathers and father figures make for their children's lives.
Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there!
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Any man can be a Father, but it takes someone special to be a DAD!
I do think that fathers are very special people and I do have 6 wonderful sons and a SIL that are dads, so today I’m sending best wishes for a happy Father’s Day to all of them and hope they spend a wonderful day with their children. Just like snowflakes, no two dads are alike. They are all one of a kind. My sons are all very different too and the pictures today are of them and just a few of their children too.
May God bless all the fathers on this Father's Day 2014
Fathers Are Wonderful
by Helen Steiner Rice
Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should...
For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills...
And Father struggles daily
To live up to "his image"
As protector and provider
And "hero of the scrimmage"...
And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,
But if you look inside Dad's heart,
Where no one else can see
You'll find he's sentimental
And as soft as he can be...
But he's so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife...
But Fathers are just wonderful
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolades of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness...
And like Our Heavenly Father,
He's a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be always on our side.
I hope you all have a restful and relaxing Sunday! Happy Father’s Day !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Blessed indeed is the man who hears many gentle voices call him father!
Lydia M. Child
I have counted at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for over a year and have now reached over 1700 gifts. On my way to 2000. I'm not stopping, but will continue on counting. There is always, always something to be thankful for.
1763. for all Fathers, especially my sons and SIL
1764. for windows and doors to open and let the fresh air in
1765. for homemade lemonade
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
A Prayer for Fathers
Mender of toys, leader of boys
Changer of fuses, kisser of bruises,
Bless him, dear Lord.
Mover of couches, soother of ouches,
Pounder of nails, teller of tales,
Reward him, O Lord.
Hanger of screens, counselor of teens,
Fixer of bikes, chastiser of tykes,
Help him, O Lord.
Raker of leaves, cleaner of eaves,
Dryer of dishes, fulfiller of wishes ...
Bless him, O Lord.-
Jo Ann Heidbreder
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,
ma

What a beautiful Father's Day Post. Loved all of the photos of your sons with their children and you sons in law. I gave Todd a card. He has nobody to give him any FD cards as his sons are passed away. He would have been a wonderful father. I sure wish we could have had a family together, but life is what it is. xxoo
Loved all the pictures of your 'Dads'.... :)
