OHIO HISTORY
On this day in Ohio history Governor Edward F. Noyes, the state's 30th governor died at age 57. He was a civil war hero and even though he lost part of one leg due to injuries, he went on to be Governor of Ohio and was appointed as Ambassador to France by President Hayes in 1877. In 1889, Noyes was elected as judge of Cincinnati's Superior Court, a position he held until his death.
The only disability in life is a bad attitude.
Scott Hamilton
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left.
Hubert Humphrey
There are many people that have overcome handicaps to go on and lead important and worthwhile lives. Sometimes even when we don't have physical limitations we let our thoughts handicap us and keep us from doing things we can.
Our fears of the unknown often keep us from doing what we'd really like to do. I love to read about people that overcame great obstacles. They encourage us to do the same.
To overcome challenges you need to have that never quit attitude in life. ... That anyone can overcome a great deal of difficulty to succeed in our world. Our bodies and our brains are both built to tackle problems, to face down challenges, to overcome difficulties on the road of life.
No road is too long for him who dares to overcome!
Today's pictures are of just some of my grandchildren as they went back to school or to school for the first time this year.
I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
If you have nothing to be grateful for check your pulse.
Author Unknown
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
917. for the strength to overcome obstacles and difficulties
918. for people that inspire us
919. for challenges that make us stronger
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
To be upset over what you don't have is to waste what you do have.

A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

How cute with the pictures of the grands going back to school; looks like everyone seemed to be happy about doing so too! I do too like to read about those that overcame obstacles or adversity in their lives and then went on to achieve great things. I think attitude is key on that, like you mentioned, Ma. It is too easy for us to want to wallow in self pity, but when we look at others with the handicaps they had and what they accomplished, it helps us realize we too can accomplish great things if we have our mind in the right place.
may you have a great Wednesday!
