1 DAY UNTIL FALL
95 DAYS UNTIL CHRISTMAS

If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
John Knisley, the founder of New Philadelphia in Tuscarawas County, Ohio was born on this date in 1752. He hired a surveyor to lay out the town of New Philadelphia similar to that of Philadelphia, PA, the City of Brotherly Love.
The men who learn endurance, are they who call the whole world, brother.
Charles Dickens
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Seek always to do some good, somewhere. Every man has to seek in his own way to realize his true worth. You must give some time to your fellow man. Even if it's a little thing; do something for those who have need of a man's help, something for which you get no pay but privilege of doing it. For remember, you don't live in a world all your own. Your brothers live here, too.
Albert Schweitzer
I don't have any bothers, I only have sisters. But I do have 6 boys. I also have 1 daughter and I dearly love every one of them. I know that there were times I'm sure she found having all those brothers was very tiresome and I'm sure could write a book on what it is like to have brothers.
When it comes to brotherly love as a way of life, that is something different altogether. Brotherly love isn't just for our siblings, it is a way of life than enables us all to live together in peace. We aren't meant to live on an island alone. We all need to learn how to be kind to one another so that peace reigns not just in our homes, but in our world.
This weekend our city is having their annual Apple Festival. I'm sure there will be lots of good food and fun to be had there. The weather is a little iffy and there may be a few showers later on. We'll be hoping they'll be brief so that everyone can enjoy it.
Hope you all have a super Saturday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Blessed is the servant who loves his brother as much when he is sick and useless as when he is well and can be of service to him. And blessed is he who loves his brother as well when he is afar off as when he is by his side, and who would say nothing behind his back he might not, in love, say before his face.
St Francis of Assisi
I am trying to count at least 3 things I'm thankful for each day and then in 1 year's time I'll have counted 1000 gifts. I’ll be sharing them and giving thanks to God for these gifts each day.
968. for brotherhood, that bonds
969. for peace in our homes
970. for apples, delicious!
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL !
The good deed you do today
For a brother or sister in need
Will come back to you some day
For humanity's a circle in deed.
Robert Alan
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…
Love,

I like the 10 ways to love, Ma. Something to root deep inside ourselves to demonstrate brotherly love to each other :)
How fun to grow up with sisters and then to have mainly boys for your children; what an adjustment that was I'm sure, but I do know you love each and everyone of your children and grands very much.
Hope the weather held so you could enjoy the apple festival :)
betty
I'm going to save the little note of Biblical references, MA... I don't know where you find everything, but am so glad you do!
I have only brothers and I have only sons... I like being the only girl... I've been eating an apple after work for the last couple of weeks... I like them with garlic salt... Happy Sunday!! :)
