ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
February 26TH, 2011
It's SATURDAY!
This is a day that Fairy Tales are made of and for. It's Tell a Fairy Tale Day . Today is a great opportunity to read your kids. If the kids aren't around, its certainly okay to read them alone. We all know that everybody loves a good fairy tale.
To qualify as a fairy tale, a story does not have to begin with Once upon a time...... But, they usually do. It is a requirement that the story has a happy ending. There's nothing better than a good story that ends with and they all lived happily ever after
On Fairy Tale Day, cozy up under a blanket and read a fairy tale book.
THINKING
Most people who diet actually lose weight until they stop dieting. Then they regain the weight they lost and about 5 percent more. When they stop working at the problem, they not only stop losing, but they’re worse than before they started. The only way to win the battle of being overweight is to make a lifestyle change by becoming aware of the danger areas and guarding ourselves against making wrong choices.
It works that way spiritually, as well. One way to keep wrong thoughts out of your mind is to keep the mind active and alert and full of right things.
Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don’t ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise
Philippians 4:8
NEW IN THE KITCHEN
National Pistachio Day celebrates one of the world's most popular snack nuts. But these roasted and buttery nuts are not just snack food. They're delicious in all manner of recipes for appetizers, side dishes, entrees, and desserts.
Pistachio Cake is a delicious cake recipe. You use a boxed cake mix, and add some additional ingredients to this and you have a wonderfully fresh tasting pistachio cake
This recipe is a little different from the one I make for my family but it sounds quite good so I thought I'd share it with you all today

1 c. club soda or water
1/2 c. oil
1/2 c. chopped nuts

PRAYERS
Jesus, I ask You to remind me each day that I should fill my mind and heart with only worthy thoughts.
May today there be peace within
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing
Dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
Amen
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
AROUND HOME
One kind word can warm three winter months
Japanese Proverb
I would say we had a good foot of new snow on the ground yesterday. Thanks so much to our good neighbors with their snow blower for clearing the driveway!
We are celebrating our little Lucky guys birthday today so I'll be traveling once again. The roads should all be cleared from yesterday's storm and it will be good to do some celebrating!
It's hard to believe our Lucky guy will be one year old already. This past year has flown by.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Winter either bites with its teeth or lashes with its tail
Proverb
22 DAYS UNTIL SPRING
51 DAYS UNTIL CAMPING SEASON BEGINS
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…
Love,
ma

Oh, my . . . has it been a year since your little one was born? Time flies!!
I remember how much I enjoyed fairy tales when I was growing up. Rapunzel was one of my favorites!
It's hard for me to imagine that much snow. Spring seems to be here, although we'll probably have more "cold snaps," as the older folks here called them. Have a great Sunday!
