ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JUNE 5TH, 2010
It's SATURDAY!
Friday brought plenty of rain in our area and even a tornado warning. I went to the club house here at the campground during that time. There were actu
ally two of them but the first one was already east of us when they issued
the warning. The storm looked pretty bad coming across the hills. Lots of lightning. I know from previous experience that when lots of lightning is around there can be a tornado.
But there were lots of periods of sunshine too. If it hadn't been for that I probably would have left for home. I don't mind camping by myself but I don't like bad weather. We'll see what today brings.
THINKING
I look for blessings and find them all around me. As I pa
use to notice the brilliant sunshine or, perhaps, the refreshing rain, I choose to be thankful, no matter the weather and to rejoice and give thanks for
blessings great and small
Let your faithful rejoice in your goo
dness

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
Ham, turkey and muenster cheese are layered with flaky crescent d
ough in this honey-glazed sandwich loaf. It's
delicious!
2cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 Tbsp butter melted
2 Tbsp honey
6 oz thinly sliced cooked smoked turkey breast
6 oz medium sliced muenster cheese
6 oz thinly sliced cooked ham
1/3 to 1/2 cup red raspberry preserves
Heat oven to 375°F. Separate or cut dough into 4 long rectangles. Place rectangles crosswise on 1 large or 2 small ungreased cookie sheets (rectangles should not touch); if using crescent dough, firmly press perforations to seal. In small bowl, mix butter and 2 tablespoons honey. Brush over dough
Bake 8 to 12 minutes or until light golden brown; cool 15 minutes.
Grease 15x10x1-inch pan. Carefully place 1 crust on pan. Top evenly with turkey. Place second crust over turkey; top with cheese and ham. Place third crust over ham; spread evenly with preserves. Top with fourth crust; brush top with 2 tablespoons honey. Sprinkle honey with sesame seed
Bake 10 to 15 minutes or until crust is deep golden brown and loaf is hot. Let stand 5 minutes. Cut into 8 slices
PRAYERS
O Lord, thank you for making our burdens light and leading us gently.

in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

AROUND HOME
Imagine your dreams as already fulfilled. Richly visualize in gre
at detail how each day of your life can be when you reach your most treasured dreams.
Here I am living the dream. For some years I dreamed of retirement and it's here in all it's glory! I still think it's too good to be true and you know what they say when you think that ...it probably is too good to be true. If that is so I do hope
no one wakes me up from this dream.
FAMILY
Today is Family Yahtzee Day. Play at least one game.
I'm not exactly sure how old the game of Yahtzee is but I do know it's been around providing hours of fun for a long long time. I remember playing the game long before I had children and before I was even married.
We played the game as a family too. Everyone taking turns to roll the dice and yelling YAHTZEE was something even the young ones could do.
Maybe that would be a good one to play at the camper sometime.
COUNTING THE DAYS
You can relax and enjoy your life, for God will strengthen, com
plete, perfect and make you what you ought to be and equip you with everything good that you may carry out His will; while He Himself works in you and accomplishes that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ

16 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER
Keep looking ON THE BRIGHT SIDE of things.
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone near…

Wow, if I were camping and saw a storm, I'd be diggin a hole! lol
Glad you are ok.
I don't mind camping alone either. I grew up in a camping family. I didn't get married until later in life so, I did a lot of camping trips alone. Glad the weather didn't hit you hard.
Oh, that recipe looks wonderful! A bit like a Monte Cristo Sandwich, which I love! I will be trying this one very soon!
Have a terrific sunday!
