ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FRIDAY, JULY 10TH, 2015
75 DAYS UNTIL FALL
Sunrise: 6:05 am
Sunset: 9:04 pm
Life is a Special Occasion!
Today, July 10th, is National Don’t Step On A Bee Day. Let’s take a moment today to think about bees and how they benefit our fragile ecosystem. We humans depend on these little buzzing pollinators for most of the fruits, nuts, seeds and vegetables on this planet. Yet their populations are diminishing drastically, and without them, the food supply for humans would be devastated.
Bee careful today !
If you can't see the Bright Side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
It is not how busy you are, but why you are busy — the bee is praised, the mosquito is swatted.
While it feels good to go barefoot in the summer time, it isn’t always a wise thing to do. Running through the grass could result in a bee sting. It’s a good idea to bee careful.
Here at my house, we often see the bees buzzing around the flowers and they are busy creatures for sure. Rarely do you see one stop, they just keep flitting from flower to flower. They are hard workers and could teach us all a lot about life.
Honeybees live within their means. There are no banks, loans or credit cards in the bees' world; only the resources they themselves gather and store. Like us, bees need to eat every day, and they do everything in their power to ensure a constant food supply by storing it, not so much for themselves, but for bees yet to be born.
Honeybees achieve extraordinary things by working together. Fifty thousand workers can shift a lot of stuff. Cooperation is the key to their success.
Honeybees make honey while the sun shines. Bees are opportunists, taking advantage of available food as soon as conditions are right.
Honeybees understand that hard times happen, and they are always prepared for shortages as well as disasters.
Among all God's creatures, the honey bee is truly special, improving our environment while benefiting all mankind. It eats from what's wholesome, gives out something nutritious, and only good comes from its existence.
It looks like it’s going to be a beautiful day here with temps in the upper 70’s. Hopefully it’ll be a day mixed with some sunshine and a few clouds. A great day to be out and about.
I hope you all have a fantastic Friday !
COUNTING MY GIFTS
For song of bird, and hum of bee; For all things fair we hear or see, Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
