ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
JUNE 29TH, 2010
It is supposed to be a much cooler day with a high in the low 70's but sunny here today. The good thing is that we get a break from the high humidity that we had over the weekend.
I'm going walking this morning and may just have to put my sweat pants on.
We cannot all be famous or be listed in WHO'S WHO,
But every person great or small has important work to do,
For seldom do we realize the importance of small deeds
Or to what degree of greatness unnoticed kindness leads
For it's not the big celebrity in a world of fame and praise,
But it's doing unpretentiously in undistinguished ways
The work that God assigned to us, unimportant as it seems,
That makes our task outstanding and brings reality to dreams
So do not sit and idly wish for wider, new dimensions
Where you can put in practice your many GOOD INTENTIONS
But at the spot God placed you begin at once to do
Little things to brighten up the lives surrounding you,
For if everybody brightened up the spot in which they're standing
By being more considerate and a little less demanding,
This dark old world would very soon eclipse the Evening Star
If everybody BRIGHTENED UP THE CORNER WHERE THEY ARE!

NEW IN THE KITCHEN
VEGGIE TORTILLA ROLL UPS
1package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/2cup sour cream
1/2cup finely shredded Cheddar cheese (2 oz)
1/4cup finely chopped red bell pepper
2tablespoons sliced ripe olives, chopped
1tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
3flavored or plain flour tortillas (8 to 10 inch)
In medium bowl, mix all ingredients except tortillas.
Spread about 1/2 cup of the cheese mixture over one side of each tortilla.
Tightly roll tortilla up. Repeat with the remaining tortillas and cheese mixture.
Wrap each tortilla roll individually in plastic wrap. Refrigerate at least 3 hours but no longer than 24 hours.
To serve, cut each tortilla roll into 1-inch slices.
I said a prayer for you today
and know God must have heard;
I felt the answer in my heart
Although He spoke not a word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked Him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that He'd be near you
At the start of each new day,
To grant you health and blessings,
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small -
But it was for His loving care
I prayed the most of all.
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
Lord, hold our troops in
your loving hands.
Protect them as they protect us.
Bless them and their families for the
selfless acts they perform for us
in our time of need. I ask this in the
name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT's
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
Today I'll get my hair cut and tomorrow I'm going with my sisters on another shopping adventure. We want to check out the resale shop that we found last week. Not that I need anything but its fun to get out and look and I enjoy some time with my sisters too.
Most of my roses are about done blooming right now. If I remember right though, they'll bloom again before the summer is over. Last year I think I still had a rose blooming in November.
The Rose of Sharon bushes have begun to bloom so before long the back yard will be full of their blossoms.
COUNTING THE DAYS
Every morning you are handed 24 golden hours. They are one of the few things in this world that you get free of charge. If you had all the money in the world, you couldn't buy an extra hour. What will you do with this priceless treasure?
