The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades.  May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks,  and boring grays of your every day.

Life is a special   

occasion!

Hallmark!

Today is New Year’s Eve which is a special occasion celebrated across the globe.  Many have fireworks displays and other festivities o celebrate the start of the New Year.  In Mexico people eat a grape with each of the 12 chimes of the bell during the countdown to the New Year.  In Brazil, they typically dress in white to bring good luck to come.

In the United States, the New Years Eve is usually a major social event. Crowds gather in New York City to watch the ball drop in Times Square, a tradition that began in 1907 after firecrackers were outlawed.  At midnight, it is customary to kiss a loved one, toast with champagne, and sing Auld Lang Syne,

Celebrate today what ever way you want, either at home with family or out with friends, and have a safe and Happy New Year!

Endings tend to precede new beginnings, so why not celebrate 

We are supposed to be gathering at DS#2’s house this evening.  He will probably have some of his friends over too.  I’m not sure if he has fireworks planned but I’m sure no matter, there will be plenty of good food!  I’ve gotten to know his friends too and they all act like part of a big happy family.  It should be a lot of fun! It’s in the 70’s today and a lot different from our record breaking 80+ degrees yesterday.  It couldn’t have been a nicer day, or a nicer beach either.  I’ve only lots of good to say about Corpus Christi.  We finished the day with diner at the Marina there and the food was delicious.  They even had outdoor seating where we could take the dog in with us.  They treat dogs really well and have a doggy menu with food and water for them too.  

I had coconut shrimp and those shrimp were huge. They were served with a side of delicious fries too.   I have a few leftover for lunch today.  It was different from what I’d be getting at Red Lobster but still remains a favorite of mine.  

It’s so hard to believe another year is over. It all went by quickly.  The older I get the faster time seams to go.  Remember to enjoy each moment as it comes, we don’t get them back again.  

The pictures today are from New Year’s Eve 2020 at DS#4’s house.  It was one to remember.

COUNTING MY GIFTS

The magic in new beginnings is truly the most powerful of them all! 

Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for.  There is truly is always something to be thankful for.

PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS

Please pray for God's protection of

our troops and HIS wisdom for their

commanders.

 

Almighty and eternal God,

Protect our military

as they discharge their duties

with the shield of your strength,

may the power of your love

enable them to return home in safety

that with all who love them

they may ever praise you for your loving care.

AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters and EMT’s.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
