Today is International Day of Older Persons which is a day to the older people in your life how much you are thinking of them.
Whether it is phone call, a quick visit, or a text message, It’s the perfect day to reach out.
This holiday was established by the United Nations General Assemby and it serves to highlight the on going contribution of older persons despite the challenges we face worldwide.
To Celebrate today, connect with the older people in your life and let them know you’re there to help if needed.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
At old age, one realizes that life is truly a dream.
Michael Bassey Johnson
I don’t know many older people than me anymore. I do have a couple of aunts and a cousin left that is older than me. At this point in my life there is not much I can do to help them, but I can offer encouragement and prayers. I used to be able to do a lot more, but these days I’m limited in what I’m able to do. I can dog sit and baby sit for the grand dogs and grand kids, which is why I didn’t make a post to my journal for a couple of days. I totally forgot to take my computer along with me when I went to DS#5's house for the weekend to sit with their dogs.
Here we are another new Month. September seemed to fly by and now we are to expect long nights than days and much cooler weather too. These definitely are the BER months. Brrill chill I say !
I hope you all had a RELAXING Sund

Every day of life is a gift and old age is a privilege not everyone gets
Well, being a person of 'generous years' myself, I sure applaud this day.
Less sand remaining in that proverbial hour glass ... like momma said, every day is a gift.
I hope yours is a delightful one!
The one thing I can say about this time in history. I have NEVER witnessed such difference and real art in carving pumpkins. Some are now examples of unique art. Amazing the time that goes into temporary art....
Love ya lady, Us old folk appreciate our day.
Sherry & jack, Thanks for a good visit and love the photos....
