Decide to be happy today, to live with what is yours – your family, your business, your job, your luck. If you can’t have what you like, maybe you can like what you have.
Just for today, be kind, cheerful, agreeable, responsive, caring, and understanding. Be your best, dress your best, talk softly, and look for the bright side of things. Praise people for what they do and do not criticize them for what they cannot do. If someone does something stupid, forgive and forget. After all, it’s just for one day.
Who knows, it might turn out to be a nice day.

It sounds like anyone can make their own gumbo using whatever they like. If you don't like fish, you can use chicken. Only sausage is included in most of the recipes I've seen.
We lived in Biloxi MS for a few years so we did taste Gumbo, We like it okay. But I don't think it will be prepared at out house. ;-)
Now, of course we love Okra, One of our favorites.
WE LOVE those family and pumpkin pictures.
Enjoy your life up that way.

I can't have any shellfish, but these recipes all sound yummy. Admittedly, I'm way ignorant of low country food origins; here I thought gumbo and jambalaya were the same thing. I hope to visit my favorite food truck tomorrow night for jambalaya and I'll be sure to ask Chef Joe.
I like gumbo and okra - if it is not spicy!
I also love Halloween - not for Halloween but the colors are so happy - I love the pumpkins - and the happy kids. Just fun.
my brother Bill lived close to New Orleans and shared the Cajun foods with
us. My hubby loves jambalaya.
