May the dear Lord Bless you today and always!
Happy Birthday to you♥
Today is also Clean Up Your Room Day which is a day to get motivated. If you have avoided spring cleaning, today is a day to tackle a messy closet, a mounting pile of laundry, a whole room or even the entire house. It will be well worth the effort.
The traditional Spring cleaning dates back to the days when people relied on fire to light and heat their lines through the winter. After months of being shut up with no fresh air, everything was covered in soot and ash, Spring cleaning traditionally took place the first warm day of the season. The entire family would roll up their sleeves and move all the furniture and linens outdoor. They would clean the house from top to bottom scrubbing down walls, beating the dirt out of the carpets and dusting everything in sight.
Begin your Spring cleaning by putting things away in their proper places and creating piles for trash and donations. Once the decluttering is done it will be much easier to do the actual vacuuming, dusting and scrubbing. When you’ve completed your project, remember to reward yourself for all the hard work.
To celebrate today, begin your cleaning by decluttering and then go on from there.
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
The objective of cleaning is not just to clean, but to feel happiness living within that environment .

This DIL lives nearby but I probably won’t see her today, she is a busy mom and does day care at home. I see her often though and a card will be going out in the mail filled with love and birthday wishes.
Since I’m the only one here, the whole house is mine to clean. I think I will start on the pile of laundry on the bathroom floor that has been waiting for me. It’s time to get it done!
I don’t scrub walls like I used to do but I try to keep up on what needs to be done most daily. I pick and choose what I want to do first. My daughter and son that live close by do come to help me sometimes and they are greatly appreciated.
My daughter came by yesterday evening and cleaned out my refrigerator of things that had expired. She threw away almost a whole garbage bag away. Now I have a lot more room in my refrigerator . Things tend to get buried when it is too full and I don’t realize they have expired. My son took out the garbage and saved me from a lot of work.
Today is my day to go shopping and I have strict orders to use what I have and not buy anything more. There is plenty of everything but bread and milk. So I will try to make up next week’s menu using what I already have available.
My menu for next week is:
Monday - Taco Bowls
Wednesday - Cool and Crunchy Chicken Salad
Friday - Tuna Noodle Casserole
Weekend - Spring Thyme Chicken Stew
For dinner today I will have:
White Bean, Kale and Kielbassa Soup
Makes 4 servings
1 Tbsp olive oil
4.5 oz. kielbasa, halved lengthwise and sliced
1 cup chopped onion
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp ground pepper
4 cups low sodium chicken broth
4 cups chopped kale
1 15 oz white beans, rinsed
Heat oil in large sauce pan over medium high heat. Add kielbasa and onion; cook stirring for 2 minutes. Add garlic powder, cumin thyme, paprika, salt and pepper; cook stirring until fragrant. Add broth, kale and beans. Cover and bring to a boil. Uncover, reduce heat to maintain a simmer and cook until kale is tender, about 7 minutes.
I don’t have Kale on hand so will use chopped spinach that I have in the freezer. I will use great northern beans in my soup but you could also use cannelli beans.
It’s actually warming up today and will be sunny so it will be a great day to get out and shop!
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY BLESSINGS
What I know for sure is that when you declutter- whether it’s on your home, your head, or your heart - it is astounding what will flow into the space will enrich you, your life and your family.

Get motivated today and do something to declutter your home.
This is a FUN entry. Enjoyed our time here with you. Had to smile at your instructions from the family about the grocery buying. This RV has a SMALL refrigerator, and we have to constantly be concerned about the space. LOL
Happy birthday to #5. I just mentioned in my blog, I don't see how you keep up with that brood of yours.
Love from down here. the SUN gets hotter as summer heads this way. Looking forward to heading North soon.

Happy Birthday blessings to your DDIL #5! Gosh. Operating a day care in one's home must have her constantly hopping ... fun, but what a responsibility!
This subject sure resonates. Lately, I've had so much 'stuff' piled here there and everywhere in my bedroom on practically every available surface. After my son and DIL come by Saturday and decide what, if anything, they want I need to take the rest to the thrift store. Next, I need get busy checking for expired foodstuffs in our refrigerator. Glad I'm not the only one!
Happy birthday to your DIL.
I made a copy of that soup - I would love that.
Happy cleaning day - well I lucked out - the house is pretty clean.
I used to clean my mom's fridge out too - understand.
Happy 😊 Birthday 🥳
