Hallmark!
Today is the International Day of Awesomeness which celebrates every person, place, thing, or idea in the world that is awesome. The official tag line points out, No one’s perfect, but everyone can be awesome.
A man named Kevin Lawver declared the need for this day in 2007. He was working with an intern named Freddie Maneiro who suggested that the office should celebrate Lawver’s awesomeness. Lawver replied that there should be an International Day of Awesomeness. He posted the idea to Twitter and the rest is history.
This holiday occurs every year on March 10th which is Chuck Norris’ birthday.
Celebrate today by preforming feats of awesomeness and have an awesome day!
If you cannot see the bright side, polish the dull side
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Life is a pretty awesome ride.
John Morrison
I’ve known a lot of awesome people and seen a lot of awesome places, some just take my breath away. The first sight of my first child did that for me. The same happened with each child and grandchild. How could anything be more awesome that that? Well I found out that each child was just as awesome as the rest.
I’ve an awesome recipe to share today just for you:
Smoky Shrimp, Corn and Pea One Pot Pasta
Makes 5 servings
8 oz. pasta shells, large elbow noodles or rigatoni noodles.
1 lb. unpeeled raw deveined shrimp, 20 to 25 count
4 cups chopped spinach
1 cup corn kernels
1 cup peas, fresh or frozen, thawed
1 onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp. tomato paste
1 3/4 tsp. smoked paprika
1/4 tsp. saffron
4 cups water
2 Tbsp chopped parsley for garnish
Combine pasta, shrimp, spinach, corn, peas, onion, garlic, tomato paste, paprika, and saffron in a large pot. Stir in water. Bring to a boil over high heat.Boil stirring frequently until pasta is cooked and the water has almost evaporated. Remove from heat and let stand stirring occasionally for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with parsley if using.
Serving size is about 1 1/2 cups
You could also substitute salmon in this recipe if you wanted to. I’ll be using shrimp. Mine has been peeled and deveined. I don’t think it’ll make too much difference. I'm also using baby kale in mine instead of spinach, both are good. I’m slowly introducing some pasta in my food but am using whole wheat. The shells I’m using are small and not large ones. So I’ve adapted this recipe using what I have.
I don’t have pasta much at all, but a little now and then shouldn’t hurt.
We’re to have snow today so I’m staying in and keeping warm once again. I have some chores to finish up and will keep busy. The pictures today are of some of my grandchildren.
I hope you all have a FANTASTIC Friday!

What a delightful day! I'm going to adopt that tag line for sure.
I recently saw a baby blanket with this saying embroidered at the top: "Your first breath took ours away."
I didn't know this is Chuck Norris' birthday; so many good folks celebrating the merry month of March!
Because I've a shellfish allergy, I appreciate your mention of substituting salmon. Good idea!
