ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY,SEPTEMBER 18TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is National Cheeseburger Day which honors a hamburger topped with cheese. They are staples at restaurants and backyard celebrations all across the country.
To celebrate today, enjoy a delicious cheeseburger in honor of national Cheeseburger Day!
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A thing of beauty is a joy forever.
John Keats
As most of the country loves a cheeseburger, so do I. I found some in the frozen section of the grocery store that really hit the spot. It’s a cheeseburger in a bun, but you have to add your own toppings. They are called Angus Burgers and are delicious and it only takes a minute and a half to warm them up in the microwave. I like them for lunch as they are quick and easy. They are the best frozen burgers in bun that I have found anywhere and their taste tops McDonalds as far as I’m concerned and they cost a lot less.
You may prefer to make your own and cook it out on the grill so I’me sharing a recipe today for you to make you own.
The Perfect Cheeseburger
Makes 4 sandwiches
1 1/2 lbs ground chuck, 15 5o 20 percent fat content
Vegetable oil for oiling the grill
Kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
8 slices American cheddar or Swisss Cheese
4 buns, split
Divide the meat into 4 equal partions. Shape each into an even 1/2 inch thick patty that should be about 1 inch wider than the diameter of your hamburger bun. Using your thumb, make a shall 1 1/2 inch wide indentation in the center of each patty. Transfer the patties to a plate and refrigerate while you prepare the grill.
Heat a grill pan or outdoor grill to 600 degrees farebeat. When the grill is ready, use tongs to rub the grate with several layers of paper towels dipped in vegetable oil.
Season the hamburger patties generously on both sides so you can see a thin layer of salt and pepper. Place patties on the grill indentation side up. Cover the grill and cook patties undisturbed until grill marks appear on the bottom, about 3 to 4 minus. Using a spatula, flip and cook for about 2 minutes more. Place 2 slices of cheese on each patty and cover grill and continue cooking until patties are slightly pink in center for medium. Remove to a clean plate and let rest in a warm place or tent loosely with foil.
While the patties are resting, place bun halves cut side down on the grill and toast until golden brown. Remove the buns to a serving plate and place a patty on each bun botton. Garnish as desired and cover with top bun.
I love cheese burgers with lettuce, tomato and onion, but some prefer mustard, ketchup and pickles. Make it how you like it.
I’m off to the store today and will be picking up some more of those frozen Agnus cheeseburgers, they are quick and easy and delicious. Perfect every time. It’s to be a sunny day close to 80 degrees, A great day to be out and about ! For lack of cheeseburger pictures today,, I’m sharing some pictures of a backyard party that DD had last summer. DSIL was in charge of the grill.
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!

It's time to grill outside and enjoy the backyard while it's still summer like.
I'll look for those Angus burgers when we go shopping. I buy the White Castle cheeseburgers for the wee one. They are the size of sliders. Perfect for him.
We are now going to be enjoying grilling more since it is cooling down a bit. Hard to man the grill when it is 110 degrees out LOL.

Happy cheeseburger day! I will have to check out those frozen Angus burgers, thanks!😄
Yummmm. Burgers/cheeseburgers are one of my favorite things … and so versatile! My latest 'kick' is to decorate it with a little guacamole and an over-easy egg.
Great minced beef, Angus. Now I must buy some at this amazing butcher store.
