ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR WEDNESDAY,SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is the National Day of Service and Remembrance which was originally started by the 9/11 nonprofit MyGood Deed in 20002. This day supports the tradition of engaging in charitable service as an annual tribute to the victims, survivors and those who offered their own service in response to the the attacks on 9/11.
Today is also call Patriot Day, a time to reflect and honor the memory of the 2,977 killed int he attacks on September 11th, 2001 in the United States. The American flag is flown at half staff at the White Hous and on all U.S. government buildings and establishements throughout the world.
A moment of silence is observed to correspond with the individual attacks, beginning at 8:46 EST - the time the first plane, Americans’s Airlines Flight 11, struck the North Tower of the World lTrade Center.
Reflect, remember and renew your pledge to honor those whose liver were forever changed on September 11th, 2001. To those fallen and those who survive. We will never forget.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
I will never forget seeing what hate can destroy…I will never forget seeing what love can heal…
Steve Maraboli
That remarkable day started out just like today, Normal and quiet but, our lives were forever changed that fateful day, 9/11/01. Prior to that day, the first thought of the day was about celebrating my wedding anniversary. I was married 9/11/65. And the nice thing was that our oldest son and his wife also choose that date for their own wedding.. Before 9/11/01, it was a much happier day of remembrance and a time of celebration, not mourning. How things changed for all of us.
Please join me in praying that something like that will never happen again. It was so devastating for so many. Hopefully there will only be happy times to remembered going forward on this day. The flowers shown below are an anniversary gift from my husband. They are silk and will last a long long time. I get them out every year as part of my fall decorations..
I hope you all have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
September 11 impressed upon us that life is a precious gift. Every life has a purpose. And I think we all have a duty to devote at least a small portion of our daily lives to ensuring that neither America nor the world ever forgets September 11.
Bill Frist
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7414. for bittersweet day of remembrance
7415. for more happy times than bad
7416.. for all the memories, they last forever, we never forget
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU ALL!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
September 11 is one our worst days but it brought out the best in us. It unified us a country and showed our charitable instincts and reminded us af what we stood for and stand for.
Lamar Alexander
A little smile, a word of cheer,
A bit of love from someone dear…

I will always remember 9/11...
That quote by Bill Frist may be the best one I've seen.
I'd forgotten today being your wedding anniversary (and that of DDS#1 and his wife). Wow. It reminds me of that Charles Dickens' quote, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times."
I'm honored to join you in prayer, Ma.
I thought your husband was "brilliant" to come up with the idea of silk flowers for your anniversary! Lasts "forever" and something you can take out and remember of your years together when he is no longer here physically walking the earth. Yes, we will never forget September 11th and I will pray your prayer, Ma.

Remembering 9/11 will be part of our country for many generations.
