ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
FOR MONDAY,SEPTEMBER 2ND, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

Today is Labor Day which celebrates the contrbutions workers have made to the strength, prosperity and well being of our country.
In 1882 New York City had the first workingman’s holiday, complete with a parade of 10,0000 workers. Over the next few years, Laor Day celebrations spread across the county and in 1894, Congress pased an act that made Labor Day an official holiday.
Today many Americans view Labor Day as the unofficial end to summer. Celebrate with cook outs, parades and weekend getaways. It’s also said that this is the last day to wear white for the summer.
If you can’t see the bright side, polish the dull side .
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Stressed is desserts spelled backwards.

It’s nice to have a nice long 3 day holiday weekend for those that go to work every day of the year. It’s not a day to Labor but to rest and reward yourself for a job well done.
I’m very thankful for the job I had as it allowed me to retire. I’ve been retired now a little over 9 years and have enjoyed it very much.
Work is something we all have to do, one kind or another. Achievement is essential for life to continue. It keeps us going, we all need a reason and purpose to our lives to make us feel fulfilled. We also need to keep the balance between work and play to be successful. All work and no play is not good for anyone.
My Labor day celebration was done yesterday with a small party of family and friends . There was probably 25 of us gather to enjoy desserts. I figured that every one deserves a sweet treat for all the work they’ve done this year, so I invited them over for just desserts. I got my favorite desserts to share, Turtle brownies and Lemon Meringue Pie and had ice cream and all the toppings so they could make a Sundae or a cone if they wanted. I also got some cupcakes and a watermelon for those that were watching their diets. It’s sweet, cool and refreshing. And I even picked up some party favors - - toothbrushes which are the Sweet Tooth RX. HA!
No labor for me today, just relaxing. I’ll share more pictures of the party tomorrow.
Desserts are the fairy tales of the kitchen - a happily ever after to supper.

I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday! Have a safe and happy Labor Day!

commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!

It was the sweetest party ever! Good food, family and friends, what could be better!
Tons of sweets and a gift of a toothbrush......that is a mother's love.
That was great thinking Ma with the toothbrushes! Yummy with the desserts you provided and I'm sure it was a great assortment with what others brought! Good idea to take today off and relax after all the partying done yesterday.
betty
I always thought it was a good idea to eat dessert first.
I can't decide what I like best! Simply the idea of 'just desserts' is SO cool. Imagine your littles -- and the little inside each adult -- were excited to participate.
Now I'm wondering if my small circle of family/friends wouldn't go for something like this … perhaps around the holidays.
Good to see you still blogging.
Ma I'm hoping you or one of your readers can help me.In 2012 I read a blog written by a daughter in her 40ish. I was about her Dad he had Alzheimer and lived in a nursing home. She would visit him often and spoke about his male caregiver that was so good to him, Dad also had skin cancer on his nose. I real hope and pray to find this blog again.
