ON THE BRIGHT SIDE
SUNDAY, AUGUST 4TH, 2019
The moments of our lives may be bright with possibility, dark with fear or sadness, or even plain everyday gray, but God's glory never fades. May God's glory shine into the exciting lights, upsetting darks, and boring grays of your every day.

THOUGhT FOR THE DAY
Today is National Coast Guard Day which honors the military branch that protects our waters and shorelines, the United States Coast Guard.
This military branch originated on August 4th, 1790 and was originally referred to as the Revenue Cutter Service. To celebrate this day, take a moment to commemorate the coast Guard. Be on the look out for festivals, parades and other events in your area.
Today is also Sister’s Day, and National Mustard Day
Thought For Today
We do this job because every once in a while someone is out there without hope, desperately praying for their life, and we get to be the answer.
U.S. Coast Guard
The Coast Guard is often in our local news as I don’t live very far away from the shores of Lake Erie. During the summer the lake is full of boaters and swimmers that are often in need of help.
They perform life saving deeds and are truly appreciated. The picture above is of a vintage postcard that shows our Coast Guard Station and how it looked when I was young.
DD and her family have been spending a lot of time by the lake this summer so that is what the other pictures are of today.
Lots of good times can be had on the lake. Just remember your water safety and have fun.
It’s Sunday and as always I’ll be off to church after enjoying this morning, slowly waking up and sipping my good cup of hot coffee.
I hope you all have a RELAXING Sunday!
COUNTING MY GIFTS
Counting at least 3 things every day that I'm thankful for. There is truly is always something to be thankful for.
7306. for my own personal coast guard, the geese that live by the lake here.
7307. for our military, heroes and she’roes. Always on duty.
7308. for Lake Erie, a fun place to be in the summertime.
Enter into His courts with thanksgiving — and in His presence is fullness of Joy!
Please pray for God's protection of
our troops and HIS wisdom for their
commanders.
Almighty and eternal God,
Protect our military
as they discharge their duties
with the shield of your strength,
may the power of your love
enable them to return home in safety
that with all who love them
they may ever praise you for your loving care.
AND bless our Police Officers, Firefighters
and Paramedics and EMT’s
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen
GOD BLESS YOU!
ADVICE FOR TODAY
Americas finest, our men and women in uniform, are a force for the good throughout the world and that is nothing to apologize for.

A bit of love from someone dear…

Thankful to live close to Lake Eried. I live on the north coast !
I bet it is beautiful up there by the lake, Ma! I'm appreciative of the Coast Guard and other first responders that help people in need!
betty
I adore vintage postcards like this!
We've no enormous waterways like yours … in fact, can ANYthing rival the Great Lakes? Nevertheless, this July 4 an inebriated boater t-boned another, killing two of its occupants. It was just announced this week (that) he is being charged with 'murder' … v. manslaughter which comes as a surprise. Wonder what they know that we don't!
Sorry to ramble on. Have a great rest of your Sunday!
