Today is also Elvis Day which is a tribute to King of Rock and Roll.  This year he would have been 84 years old.  He was a singer, musician and actor from the small U.S. American town of Tupelo in the state of Mississippi.  He was born on January 8th, 1935 and died in 1977 which was considered the end of an era and since then his fans celebrate annually on the anniversary of his death at his home for a week called  Graceland,

This DIL’s birthday is one of the many August birthdays in our family.  There are couple more to come ending with Mr. Wonderful on the 31st, the end of the month.  As always a card was sent out filled with love and birthday wishes for a wonderful day!

Elvis was and is a favorite singer of mine. He was very popular in my teen years and I remember going to the movies and watching him on the big screen, along with many other screaming teen agers.  What a sight we must have been to have been so enthusiastic over a  movie of his, where he did a lot of singing.  It wasn’t even live on stage, only a movie!  

I still have many of his songs on a play list.  My favorite would probably be his Christmas Album.  But then Christmas is my favorite time of year anyway.

Hard to believe it is Fishish it Up Friday already.  It seems like the week just began and now it’s time to finish up all those things I started but didn’t finish this week.  I have clean dishes in the dishwasher to put away and clean clothing in the laundry basket all folded and ready to be put away too.  it’s my day to put the finishing touches on the house so it’s really for the weekend.  And since it rained yesterday afternoon, I still have the yard work to finish up too.  

While I didn’t do a lot this week I’m thankful for what I did get done.  Every little bit counts !
